Worst shopping experience in this shop. He will only stare at your 20% so-called return fees. I booked a Nikon D850 camera. The merchant modified my order without my knowledge and added $1,000. I called to ask if I was out of stock. The merchants promoted the so-called US version of the D850 to the same product. However, the price of the camera was more than $1,000 for me to make additional payments. So I proposed to cancel the order and refund, merchants do not allow direct refunds for various reasons. I called again for a refund to cancel the order and the merchant immediately informed that it had been shipped. Request to provide ups package number, but was told to wait again and again! ! ! I sent 6 e-mails and the merchant did not reply! ! ! I will safeguard the rights through legal channels in the end!

I had never done business with 42St Photo and thought that I found a really good deal on a Nikon D7200. The next day I get a call describing that they just wanted to make sure that I knew I had purchased a European version of the camera and that I needed to pay $200 more for the US version. Oh, and that for the trouble they would throw in a $200 16GB SD card for free. What a joke! Where in the hell does a 16GB SD card (I don't care what speed it is) cost that much. The guy was very pushy and a complete idiot. I knew some thing was wrong immediately and canceled my order. He tried very hard not to let me cancel saying that I was paying the same amount as other places. These guys don't deserve to be in business.

After reading numerous good reviews on this company I ordered a camera at a good but not obviously fraudulent price. I was lucky enough to have missed a box to check about delivery and Robert called me. Only because I asked did he admit this was an "international" model, being sent to Ohio, to Ohio!!.He tried everything to divert me from cancelling this offer, including promise of a correct camera which I refused. I got the real nonsense double talk. Will see if my card gets refunded. Despite all the good reviews this is an unscrupulous company!!

I'm a professional photographer and I purchased a camera 5d mark 4 from the store 42nd street photo try to save money , very nice price $3099 and the lens 24-70 for additional price i was so excited and happy, after a month the camera broke down on the meddle of the wedding and i call them they sad bring the camera in we will check it I asked for the replacement, they refused they told me that they gonna send it to the canon to fix, after 4 weeks Instead 7 business days like that promise, after a week the camera broke down again, I went to the store again and I was p***** *** I told him I want my money back the told me no way they going to send again! The store manager sent again the camera to the Canon and on the third time the camera broke down on the meddle of the wedding, After big argument they didn't gave me money but they did replace a camera, and the new camera broke down on the meddle of the wedding AGAIN! After disappoint my clients in 4 weddings I wrote to so many places to ask for help to get my money back. It ended that they replace again the camera with the used one and not from the bo !!! I'm very disappointed from this store and I'm never gonna get stuff from them again, I was tired to argue with them i spent $300 on the parking garage !

I got a camera from them on November 2016, the camera i wanted was on their site but they didn't have it so i got a different one, which was ok except the fact that they had a deal on their site which didn't exist. A few weeks ago i needed to get it fixed, i assumed it was under Nikon 1 year warranty and sent it to Nikon, they send it back to me saying that it was a grey market camera and that they don't fix it!!! I send 42nd street a mail and got no reply, so i called them. When i called 42nd street they told me they only give 30 days warranty on Nikon stuff since they are not an authorized dealer!!! I wouldn't recommend buying Nikon from them. go to your local store and buy from a proper Nikon dealer. I am not including all the details, like the fact that they tried and push a filter i didn't need for 70$ and more... wouldn't recommend them.

Update: the day after I posted this review I received a phone call from the manager of the store who apologized for my bad experience and offered to give me a free SD card supposedly valued at $399 if I changed my rating to a 5. I told him that my experience was so bad it wasn't worth $399 at which point he offered to give it to me if I just took my review down. Now I know how they get the good reviews. As a side note I could only find the brand of SD card that they sell at their store. Every other store sells a 32 GB SD card for $30.....another scam. I had almost the exact same experience as Vincent mentions below only I called back immediately to ask for itemized up charges which I never received so I tried to cancel my order. They insisted it was already shipped even though they had not even created the label yet for UPS to pick up. This was very easy to confirm with UPS which I did. When I said I was going to return it I was told there would be a 20% restocking fee for an item that had not even left their warehouse. The camera is a grey market camera with no warranty. Trying to talk to these people is impossible. They are rude, interrupt, do not let you speak and then have the nerve to call me rude!! Run do not walk away from this store. I can not understand how they are still in business unless people do not even know what they have purchased. When you figure it out and question them they get very rude and obnoxious

After searching the internet looking for a camera, i found it at 42nd street photo. They had a very good offer on the camera i was searching for. I put in an order on there website. Got a confirmation that it was ok. I did have some trouble with the payment regarding some maximum limit on a creditcard. Did reciew an mail from them hove to solve it. So far so good. Then a phone call came from a guy i think was called Jack. He told me that the camera i had ordered couldn't work in my country in europe. Something with the GPS signal. I said that i couldn't understand that because it said in the description that it was supported by 3 different satellite systems. one in the US. One in Russia. And one in Asia. But he said that i had to get the Worldwide edition of the camera instead. He also said that there was something with the way it recorded video. I don't now so much about cameras, and i thougt that if they called from the store and said so. Well then it must be true. After i did check with Canon. There is no such thing as a worldwide camera. So all That i had been told was one big Lie... He also sold me a Memory card that i did say Yes to. But at that time i was only thinking about the camera lie. It is a way overpriced memorycard. After all this i went home to find out that he had change the price on the camera on my bill. Now the bill was changed to the same camera but now with a "worldwide" at the end instead. Now the good deal was gone i wanted to cancel the ordre. So I called the costumer service to do that. Her i Got a hold on Greg. He told me i couldn't cancel my ordre since it was already shipped. Fair enough it was With UPS. But i had the camera ordered so that my wife that was in New York could pick it up at the store in New York. He told me that they have a Truck going every 30 min from there warehouse to the store. So the camera was at the store now. And she was the only one who could pick it up. We are talking maximum 2,5 hours from Jack called until i wanted to cancel the ordre. But her came a second sales trick. Greg could throw in an extra memory card for free. My wife has since picked up the camera from the store. It was not rapped in anything that indicated that it had been ship from anywhere. So i think that there is no "warehouse". The camera has been at the store all the time. I'm never going to recommend this store to anybody. DO NOT EVER DO ANY BUISNESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU LIES. TO UPSELL WHEN THEY CALL YOU TO CONFIRM THE ORDRE. AND WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM, THEY ARE NOT VERY GOOD TO HELP YOU OUT. Brian

I'm not doing that often but for this case I have no choice. (My english is not the best of the world, I'm sorry for that ;)) I ordered a Camera and a Lens with filters and battery. Everythings good, great price, I think you know it. Anyway I bought for more than 3 000$ they take the money of my account and sand me a email with the confirmation. 2 days after I get a call from someone who I can't tell the name. He started to talk like a basic sellers, telling how he like my country, how USA and my country are friend.. Basic fake things but anyway, and then he asked me if I want another camera (+800$), he said the one I took his not the good one with this lens... Bla bla bla. This kind of speach can work with someone who don't know anything about camera, but not with me. Then he said "ok, that your bad choice but I respect. Anyway I can make you an offer for others filters an other battery" I said "Why, something wrong with my filter?" -"Yes it's not a good one for your lens, I have a pack of this 3 filters and a better battery for your camera, just 200$ more" -"Ehh just sand me a email with the reference. I'm checking that and I'll call you back" So he sent me the email. I checked, and nothing about this filters on google, and I saw the battery was not an official, so you can find that on some website for 15$ (the original I payed for was 70$) I call him back. Was polite and said "I saw your offer, it may be good (haha no way) but I'm just going to stay with products I odered" -"Yeah but we don't have those product, and we just have the pack I told you" -"Humm, that's weird, because on the website it's available, and on the mail I had everything was good" -"Yes sorry but I just have this pack" -"Ok, so just sand me everything except the filter and the battery I ordered, and refund me the difference" -"No, even the camera and the lens I can't send it to you, it's the pack or nothing" LOL :!! seriously one of the most famous camera and a famous lens.!! So I said "But you can just take out of your "pack" the camera and the lens and send it to me" And then he said "Ok I'll refund you, goodbye and goodluck" And he hang off the phone. Whaou that's really pro!! So he put me in a s**t, because my bank account was out of 3 300$ and I can't spend more untill 30days and even if I can I don't have this money... And the major probleme it's than I need that for my work!! So after thought about all the posibilities I had no other choices than call him again, to say "OK I'll take your pack, I have no choice and you know it" He said "Ohh I deleted your order, let me see with my boss" 15 seconds after he said "Ok I can do it, you'll be happy, you made the good choice..." I finally got everything (with those basic filters and fake battery). But they really put me in this horrible situation (I allaways get the choice but for this case they just forced me to do what they want to get my camera...) Anyway guy who I can't tell the name, I'll come to NY in few months and go to the shop, I really hope you'll be there to have a real conversation, without the possibility to hang me off. Seriously if I had the choice I would have taken the refund and pay more to deal with real profesional people.. Anyway if you are reading this, you still have the choice, make the good one ;) EDIT: They called my friend after this review (because I don't have cellphone) and they said something, but I can't say what because I have no prouve and it could be defamation, thanks for the freedom of expression.... Anyway don't call me (& my friend) again, never. I just don't want to deal with you again.
