SoloPlex tent probably ok; customer service/website not
I ordered a SoloPlex tent and it may be the best thing since sliced bread in ultralight backpacking. However, the customer service was abysmal. Immediately, I got a review request, which was annoying. With the level of investment in that tent, why bug the new owner who probably has barely had time to set it up in their own space? Second, I received a notice of reward points but figuring out how to use them without having to interface with a person was trying (and those points, it turns out, are pretty miniscule in terms of buying power). Third, as I shopped online for additional items, I was constantly barraged by popups and other clutter that tried to sell me more and of things I didn't want, to the point of being a distraction. When I did order the additional items I wanted, a $3.95 charge appeared in my cart for some "clean return" ability that I didn't want and I had to search to find out how to remove it. The entire experience was too clunky for me to order from them again. Oh, and that tent, it will be at least a month before I can actually try it in a natural setting. But don't tell anyone so I can escape the survey hounds.
