Disgraceful, there’s no other way to describe this company other than a thief. We had reserved a mid-sized car three weeks ahead of the pickup date. When we arrived, the scene was telling: a huge line, people complaining about how the company was a scam, and an empty parking lot. After waiting in line for four hours, we were told that our car was no longer there because we were late (we arrived a half hour early, and only missed it because we waited in that line for four dang hours!!! But try explaining that to someone looking to scam you). We were given an ultimatum: upgrade for $300 more or walk away with no refund. We couldn’t get a refund because we “arrived late”. We never got a refund from these thieves. It’s clear that the thing they’re good at is charging you for cars, and then conceiving every possible excuse not to give you said cars and, most dang important, to keep your money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEYRE THIEVES. 0/5 STARS. DISGRACEFUL.

Ijust wanted to let anyone know that whomever rents a car from your company it’s a total scam. I rented my car through priceline and called york directly to tell them my flight was delayed and i spoke to Andrew Castor who told me not to worry I would get the car . When my son went to pick up the car later that day. He waited there for a few hours only to be told his reservation was cancelled and he’d have to pay double if he wanted a car When we asked to talk to the manager he claimed the reservation was cancelled NOT TRUE!!! then of course I called price line the company I rented from who told me the reservation wasn’t cancelled and they would escalate my case. They literally tired to scam me into paying double of what I had already paid and lied about my reservation being cancelled. I’m so so disappointed and frustrated by the feeling of having completely been scammed into falling into the trap of this lying rental and unethical company. Nobody nobody prepay or use them !! The experience was awful. I’m a 61 yrs old that has never written a bad review in my life. I have rented from numerous rental companies they have always been accommodating and correct. I have never witnessed such blatant manipulation they thought my son would have no other choice but to rent their car for double the price and lose his initial payment which was the full amount of the car rental. IT DIDN’T WORK !!! They thought he was stick there and wouldn’t have a choice !!! My son walked out without a car waisted numerous hours and had to uber home. their name is more important then them trying to make a few more bucks. shame !!!!

It was nowhere written that you just can drive within florida. So I canceled the trip after I paid for it. So they told me to give my money back. I never got it back and they not answer on mails and calls.

Beware of York car Rental. They wanted to charge my credit card $2500.00 for a security deposit. This was not disclosed when I made my reservation on Priceline. The staff at the rental location was terrible. Very unprofessional. Do not use York car rental EVER!

Just like everyone else has said, a total bait and switch scam. The thing that really pissed me off was that American Airlines Rewards offered up this scam of a car rental company in exchange for miles. I arrive to pick up car, and it's nothing but added fees, and outrageous details about insurance. You had to show them your declaration page of your insurance, or buy out of that on a per day basis. I walked out without talking car, and now am formally complaining to AA.

No star if I could, SCAMS, CROOKS, run away from them!!!!!! They told me if I didn't take the inssurance I will not be able to pick-up the car, and they ask me 3000$ deposit. One week ago I rent a suv with dollar, I took no inssurance, and the deposit was 500$. So what happen with York car rental is that I ask them to cancel my booking, the employe at the counter told me that as long as I didn't pick up the car I will be refunded but he lied about it, and I went to Thrifty to rent an SUV. CROOKS

Rented a car from them and from the start it was an awkward experience. You have to go through the hotel to get to the car rental desk; but there is no clear signage. The car was clean enough, no issues with the rental car itself, but then a few weeks later I notice a $78 CAD charge on my card. I have to call them to ask for a statement of charges and I was told that it was for toll charges incurred ($13.90 CAD) plus taxes, plus a $50 service fee detailed in the contract I signed. Only problem with that is that the contract does not say that at all - there is no mention of taxes on tolls and the part that states there is a $50 service fee says that the fee applies to "each ticket and/or violation". I spent quite some time trying to get them to correct this, but they wouldn't budge and insist their contract says what they THINK it does. I eventually had to get my bank involved to get it corrected. I would steer clear of this rental company as they are stealing $ from their customers.

SCAM!!! PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING THIS SERVICE. They mention everything at the time of picking up the car about going out of province and about insurance(which they make you buy from them at time of pickup) and nothing about how you will be charged for going over 200kms. It is advertised as unlimited mileage and nowhere on the website does it state "charged for excessive KM" unless after you make the reservation and listed as hidden fees. They don't even have their company listed on google maps as so people cant leave reviews. UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL BEHAVIOUR.
