Aside from the insurance, the rest isn't worth it.
Aside from the insurance, the rest really isn't worth it. a sub-$20 subscription to the magazine, great. But the pose library and sequence builder is subpar in comparison to other online and application references and builders. I was really disappointed once I logged in and saw how much it lacked, and all the more because I ended up paying additional money for another service to help me with this need.

Where's The Beef?
I purchased Teacher's insurance, but there is nothing on your website that confirms that I actually have a policy.
In general, your website showed relatively little substance to my membership that I already paid for, and a lot more extra stuff that you want me to buy.

Not as advertised, no way to get help
I signed up for teachers plus in March. I chose this program bc of the bundled benefits - including a subscription to yoga journal. It is now almost September and I still have not received one issue. I have tried various methods of reaching out to YJ, only to be redirected over and over. Finally I get the email of someone who supposedly can help with this issue and they haven’t responded in weeks. “Customer service” seems to be nonexistent.

poor Customer service
I’ve had the hardest time getting my magazine subscription which was included with my part time liability insurance. I became a new customer of this insurance in March 2018. It is nearly September and I have yet to see a magazine. I’ve called countless times for six months and nobody can help me. I’ve also been emailing customer service with responses, but no results—just people saying they’ll “look into that,” and that my address and order is “not in the system”—but I do have my copy of my confirmation and my insurance policy. I never hear back from those who “look into it.” When I follow up, I get the run around on the phone, being transferred to several reps who can’t solve the issue. This is poor customer service. I can’t believe its this hard to get something I signed up for and paid for (insurance package deal).

No value offered online for the yoga journal membership line
the information you can get through the membership is readily available through other sources online. The sequence Builder is pretty much no use I can do it better on my own and I barely just graduated with my 200 hour. The music is very limited and all through Spotify. All the teachers I know have problems with Spotify jumping into a random shuffle in the middle of their classes. Experienced teachers know to avoid Spotify so funny yoga journal use a Spotify and is so limited on top of that. I went over the yoga journal website again trying to see if there's anything of value that I might have messed... Unfortunately nothing really a value and I feel a bit disappointed that I paid for the membership on top of my liability insurance.

Don't see the value
Don't see the value. It seems like it's more like an ad to purchase more things and the fee doesn't provide a lot of value to the member.

Site Navigation for Member
I do believe there is good content at this site but I find account navigation very frustrating. I know I’ve been a member of YJTP but can’t determine if I still am, what my history has been as a member or how to renew Teacher’s Plus membership without adding a second Yoga Journal Magazine subscription. I gave up on the insurance part of it.

UPDATE: If you visit the new TeachersPlus Dashboard, I've added a direct link to 'My Account' that gives all the necessary information about status, renewal, purchase history, etc. Hope that helps!

Thank you for taking the time to provide your review and feedback of TeachersPlus. My name is Trevor Dye, and after 7 years of teaching yoga as a full-time freelancer, I’ve recently come on board at Yoga Journal to revamp the TeachersPlus Membership Platform. I want you to rest assured, as a teacher, I’ve echoed your sentiments to the higher-ups at Yoga journal, specifically that we need to improve the user experience of the membership dashboard, make site navigation more intuitive and add more functionality that an active yoga teacher can actually use in their day-to-day. After reading your review, I just sent an email to our developers to figure out how we can make membership status, expiration dates and the renewal process more clear for users.
If you haven’t logged in recently, I’ve redesigned the membership dashboard user interface to be easier to navigate and use. I’m in the process of adding more pre-made sequences to the sequence builder, as well as curating a database of yoga playlists, sortable by duration and tempo, for teachers to plug and play in their classes.
We eventually plan to spotlight TeachersPlus member sequences and playlists in Yoga Journal’s newsletter and social media platforms. We’re also much more actively pursuing additional member-only offers and discounts from trusted brands that a yoga teacher can actually use. For example, I’m currently finalizing a handful of travel-related deals to help traveling teachers save a few bucks.
So, rest assured, you have someone on your side and the platform is on its way to becoming a really powerful tool to help teachers like yourself succeed. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to message me.
Thanks for being a valued member of TeachersPlus!
Sincerely,
Trevor Dye
