I subscribed for $1/month. I was charged three times the $1 during the first week, but, it was $3, so didn't give it much thought. Today I got a message from my banking app saying a transaction was unsuccessful due to low funds. When I checked it out it was WSJ trying to charge me $28. Pissed, I went online to cancel my subscription ... but what do you know, you can only cancel your subscription if you call a number. No way to do it online. What?! What if I don't own a phone?! Useless anyways, the number seems disconnected. So no way to cancel my subscription from this scam service.

I would not give them a star if I could. They are a total scam company and just charge even when you try to cancel. DON'T even do a trial with this company, you will completely disappointed. WORST COMPANY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!

THESE GUYS ARE SCUMBAGS!! You will not be able to read any content without a subscription and God help you if you give them payment information. You would think a 'popular name' journal like this would be above the scam that they run. IMO you're much better off using a journalism service that doesn't steal from your bank account like highway robbers and cares little about accountability and integrity.

I wish there was a way to give them ZERO stars. The cumbersomeness of their subscription cancellation method makes them a scam.

The WSJ hasn't been a real source of news for a while now, I only purchased the student plan because I was required to for a class. Due to Covid-19 they've basically shut down their phone lines and have cited "technical problems" for the multiples times I've tried to cancel my subscription. If you're not in California you have no option to cancel online because they know they're in the scam business at this point. Shame on DOW and shame on the clowns working for this sham of a "news" organization.

To anyone considering a WSJ "Free Trial" - BEWARE! I signed up for a free trial and was charged $19.99 IMMEDIATELY. I contacted WSJ right away, and they promised a refund. But, after 2+ weeks and multiple emails, NO REFUND. Reading WSJ’s horrendous reviews at the BBB, it's no surprise.

Impossible to cancel digital subscription. Only available option is to do via call which is not available in all European countries and the numbers given are not working.
