Extremely Disappointing Experience My First and Only Review — Extremely Disappointing Experience This is my first-ever public review, and I have made every effort to keep it factual and objective. I engaged Writer Blooms on April 20 with a finalized manuscript. The agreed work was relatively straightforward: light editing, page-layout enhancement, cover design, and Amazon publishing. My book launch was scheduled for June 21. Despite having more than enough time, the work was still not satisfactorily completed by June 15, forcing me to take the project to another company at additional cost simply to ensure that I did not miss my launch date. The experience was marked by repeated delays, excessive back-and-forth, poor communication, and difficulty getting relatively simple creative directions implemented correctly. At one point, my assigned contact, Martin, stopped taking my calls and responding to my messages. I also experienced considerable pressure by Martin to purchase additional services that were not part of my original scope. There were disagreements regarding ISBN services, including being told that I had to use the company to obtain ISBNs at a cost of $150 USD per format. I have 3 formats so that would have cost me $450 USD. I ultimately chose not to proceed with their printing services because I had already lost confidence in the quality of the work being delivered. Unfortunately, the problems did not end there. When my book was set up for Amazon, the interior was configured with white paper despite my clear preference and brief for cream paper. Even more frustratingly, an unapproved back-cover design was published, creating another significant issue that had to be addressed. Overall, my experience was characterized by serious concerns regarding communication, coordination, poor quality control, and unprofessional execution. What should have been a relatively straightforward publishing project became unnecessarily stressful, time-consuming, and more expensive. In my entire professional experience, this has been one of the most frustrating companies I have ever engaged for a project. I would not recommend Writer Blooms based on my experience, and I sincerely regret having entrusted this project to them. I am sharing this review not out of malice, but because prospective authors deserve to know about my experience before committing their time and money.

I hired this company to edit, format, make a cover page and help me to submit my book to Amazon. Twice, I was pressured by their staff to pay exhorbitant fees for things that can be done easily and cheaply. The edit of my book was an AI grammar check. Very basic. The cover was not an original but taken from Pixabay and modified. The final formatted manuscript was not publishable due to errors. I requested a full refund and when they denied me one, I told them I would request it from my credit card company. At that point they threatened to publish my work without my consent. Since I did not sign any contract with them and my work was already copyrighted, this is a clear violation of copyright law. I would not recommend this company to any authors. They will threaten to steal your intellectual property and publish it to recoup their losses if you attempt to get a refund, regardless of the poor quality of work. No editing company has a right to do that without a signed consent. Very shady business practices.

I would suggest that anyone interested in the service research the previous reviewers and check their publishing history on Amazon before proceeding. Pressured, for more money before finishing the edit I paid for. I have been prompted to add more information regarding this review. Why? It's relatively simple to ask people and Trustpilot to follow up on these reviews for Writer Blooms...how many reviews have they posted? Where is their publishing history and items on Amazon as promoted by Writer Blooms? A simple request for research...it's just doing due diligence.
