Generally I was very happy with Worthpoint. Absolutely hate the app update. Too busy and does not fit well on screen. Hard to find what you need and I have to keep resigning in even though I click on quick sign in every time. Why do places change was not broken?

WorthLESS than $20/mo
I've been buying storage units for 3 decades! I've learned I've given and thrown away stuff because it looked nasty or like junk to later find out it was worth thousands. Now, unless I KNOW the value, it goes to storage until it's researched. I needed something to expedite my process. YouTubers I watchED raved about Worthpoint so I tried it. I attempted to savor my trial to value items I was stuck on. I called and left a message I didn't understand how to use the markings lookup. No response. I didn't find any videos to assist. You have to provide a description of the mark. Then search will show you an image of marks that match your description, which I thought was great. BUT, If you don't know what the marking is or how to describe it, you can't search for it. Asian marks, forget about it. The reference books are wonderful, IF THEY ARE IN YOUR PERSONAL LIBRARY (IMO).
I attempted to cancel before my trial was over because it was frustrating to search prices for items Google images could not find if I didn't know what the item was. IF the item IS in worthpoint google image would take me to it. Google image did most of the work. The few times that it did give me something useful it either showed me it last sold for several years ago for $X which ended up not really being useful, did that mean it was obsolete, rare, keywords were wrong, Or ebay is the wrong market? Or it showed me my items weren't selling for much. Worthpoint ate up A LOT OF MY TIME. The features, as-is, aren't worth the money unless you are an affiliate, IMHO. The 7 item value search trial was confusing because I wanted to the higher priced search version which includes maker mark searches. I was afraid to use my trial searches on the "wrong" keywords, so I don't think I used the 7, so I paid for 3-4 mos. I wish I had just sent an email to cancel during the trial, when I couldn't get the cancel button to work.

Paid Almost $20 & still don't get to see prices
I had been thinking of getting Worthpoint for awhile to look up prices. I got sick and when I finally get online to use Worthpoint, I find out I need to upgrade my membership to see prices. Very disappointing.. I feel this membership is useless, as I refuse to pay more than the $19.99 Iam already paying. Very expensive for not being able to even see prices.. I immediately canceled my membership the same day it renewed. I would like my $19.99 back, as I will not be using this site again.. I never used it at all to begin with.. I feel this membership is deceitful and I feel they should warn you before they automatically renew and charge you $19.99 for a useless membership. I just read where legislation is trying to make this practice of setting ppl up for automatic renewal illegal.

Limited History
Useless most of the time but I still use it because there isn't a better alternative which there really needs to be.
I sell things on ebay as a part time Income, and regularly run into things with no sold history, or a very limited sold history. For example I found a Swedish humming bird Chime carved out of wood today at goodwill with 1 that sold last December on ebay for $115 but nothing Shows up on Worthpoint so I have no way to know if the item was priced low. Many times ebay will show many recent sold listings for an item, but worthpoint will have very limited or no information going back years. Sometimes the pricing WP gives you is actually lower than the item is actually worth. Don't trust the pricing as I believe this information is less than 10% of what actually sold over the years.
I'm convinced less than 10% of the completed listings on ebay are actually recorded. Kind of bs there isn't a better alternative for a paid service.

Hi Benjamin,
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your business and your feedback. WorthPoint receives reported sales information via our data partners every 30 - 60 days, so there may be a chance for a delay of information between when the item was just sold, and when it arrives in our database. We are also continually adding new data partners in order to ensure a fuller spectrum of information and categories, and hope that you will be able to find more information as time progresses. We are always striving to improve the customer experience, and would love to hear any additional suggestions you may have if you are interested in sharing. We’re also always available if you need any additional assistance. Please feel free to reach us at [email protected].
Thanks,
WorthPoint Team

Pointless if you're not a professional trader.
Can't speak for the experience if you're a paid member (I suppose professional collectors / traders of antiques), but whenever I look for any information on an item of some significant value this website immediately pops up in Google - and it's completely pointless, as it won't give you any useful information unless you pay...
Response from WorthpointAug 11, 2020
Dear Mr. Voss,
We can understand how it would be frustrating to see the same site in your searches. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. If the item being searched is deemed a collectible or antique by a popular search engine, that search engine’s algorithm will display WorthPoint as one the most popular resources of information on that item.
You can certainly try our free trial offer if you are interested in seeing the value of an item. WorthPoint’s website offers a free trial of 7 price lookups within 7 days (whichever comes first) to research your item. In order to initiate a search, you would need to register for an account. WorthPoint does not charge any subscription fees upfront for the free trial offer. If a customer does not wish to keep their account after the free trial period, they would need to physically cancel the account before the end of the free trial period to avoid any subscription fees. We provide 3 cancellation options:
Email- [email protected]
Phone- 877-481-5750
Website- go to "My WorthPoint" drop-menu>select "My Account"> in left box select "Your Subscription"> select "Subscription Settings">select "Cancel".
All customers receive a cancellation confirmation email sent to their registered email address.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards,
WorthPoint Customer Care

Data is woefully incomplete
Worthpoint has the potential to be an incredibly valuable resource.
However, having been a paying subscriber for over a year I've learned that they are missing huge chunks of data. Take the keyword "Gunne Sax dress". According to eBay, 2-3 Gunne Sax dresses sell per day on average. There are over 1,000 sales of these dresses on eBay for the last three months. But if you search Gunne Sax dress on Worthpoint, it lists only one dress sold on eBay in all of 2019, the rest of the results are for patterns. As a seller of Gunne Sax dresses, I can say with absolute certainty that this is not correct.
This problem is not limited to Gunne Sax dresses. In most of the searches I do data seems to be missing. I tried contacting the company three times without success. The first time customer service sent me a sarcastic reply dismissing my concern. The second time they told me the "data had not updated yet". The third time they told me they would look into it but never did.
If you are using Worthpoint for price research, know that the information you get from this service will not be complete. I do hope they fix it at some point.

Hello Ms./Mrs. Rosie,
We appreciate your feedback and apologize for your experience.
Your business is truly appreciated, and we understand how it can be frustrating not finding information that you are searching for. We conducted a search from your review and were able to find varied listings from 2020 using a “date” filter and “best match” filter as well. While we are contracted for a specific amount of information for each category in our database from each auction house, auction houses may keep their information up to 6 months in their database prior to transferring them to WorthPoint. We apologize for the inconvenience and would love to assist you again if you are interested.
Kind Regards,

Ok. But unnecessarily sneaky.
Ok. So was hunting for a rare book which had popped up on Worthpoint. Never heard of the company or its many bad reviews.
The book details were there. But the sell date and cost are only revealed when you subscribe. Decided to use the seven day free trial. Only to discover the book was sold in 2011... well no harm done I thought. Least I know what it costs and that people sell it.
Here’s where it gets tricky. They are very sneaky. 1. You have a 7 day free trial. But if you search more than 7 things your trial will automatically charge for the month. Yes they say that. But it’s very easy to gloss past that bit in the small print.
2. Also there are many buttons to accidentally end your free trial and get a full paid subscription. Some poor people have managed to select a yearly subscription.
3. If you want to delete your account be prepared for some googling, more googling and more googling! Lots of dead links on google. They know what they are doing.
In the end after scanning the email to no avail, tried the trouble-shooting section. It’s maybe a little telling the how to delete your account is missing a sentence at the end. However managed to delete it finally.
4. Have taken a screen-grab of it as some people here have said they were charged unnecessarily and subscription hadn’t been cancelled. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
It’s not all bad. Frankly a lot of people here are mad because they didn’t delete their account in 7 days. But that’s not the company’s fault.
Also if you’re an eBay seller this would be very useful. But if you’re casually looking for one thing avoid!

Hello Mr. Miller,
We apologize for any confusion.
After review of your records, we see you signed up for and cancelled WorthPoint under [email protected] on 12/04/19. There were no charges incurred on your account. When signing up for our free trial, the Terms and Conditions of the free trial are stipulated in red. If the account is not cancelled before the end of the free trial period, we assume the Customer would like to start a paid subscription. During the free trial, WorthPoint provides a “lookup ticker” to allow customers see how many price lookups are remaining during their free trial period.
During registration, the Customer is given the choice to select a monthly or an annual subscription, the billing method details are explained in detail before prior to selecting the “Confirm” button. Once the free trial of 7 price lookups or 7 days (whichever comes first) is complete, a button displays informing the customer the free trial has ended. This button displays “Activate your paid Membership”. Once activated, a message appears to let Customers know that they are entering into their paid subscription.
WorthPoint offers 3 ways to cancel an account which are, by phone, email, or website. After reviewing our logs, we could not locate any emails or calls, requesting cancellation, from the email address and phone number you provided. Customers wanting to cancel via website can do the following: Select “My Worthpoint” drop-menu> Select “My Account”> Select “Subscription Settings”> Select “Currency”> Select “Unsubscribe” (located at the bottom of the page). This information is also located in our FAQ section.
