Best tool I've found so far — with a few growing pains
Until the other week my time tracker and task manager were separate softwares, and I had to do my invoicing manually. I wanted a software that would combine these three needs; I had heard about Dubsado and other tools like that, but they seemed like way more than I needed as a solo (and fairly new) freelancer. I was very excited when I came across Hectic — it does seem to be one of a kind. That said, there are always growing pains when using a new software and there were a few things I noticed right away that weren't as intuitive as what I was using before (Asana). But it has to be said that Hectic is obviously a much smaller and newer company than Asana or a lot of the other task managers out there. And the big redeemer is that Hectic's customer service is SO eager to help — one of the founders, Geoff, literally offered to do a 30-minute call with me to help me with the few issues I was having. He also directed me to their feature suggestions page, which they seem to actually pay attention to and use as inspiration for their quarterly updates. All in all, I'm already moving through most of the initial growing pains and am getting more comfortable using Hectic each day. I also have faith that this company is only going up from here, with user satisfaction at the core of their features and changes.
