Wild ApricotReviews of wildapricot.com

Wild Apricot offers value for the dollar paid if an organization uses all the services offered. On the other hand, if only accepting membership dues and posting an occasional newsletter (barebones membership services) is all that is needed then this is a pricey alternative. It is believed that this is typical of such service-oriented membership options. The outstanding feature of Wild Apricot is that its support people were extremely helpful in solving user-perceived problems.

Very satisfied but a couple of concerns. 1. Seeing a lot of changes that seem to be coming from the new parent company. While most of it is good sometimes marketing and finance functions overpower the technical side and the user side. Just make sure you listen to the users and the ones closest to the users. Nothing specific at this time but kinda of a gut feel. 2. The Mobil App for members has the option to "pay later". From our experience and a couple of inputs I've seen via the Membership Tribe Facebook page it appears that other user organizations may be experiencing this as well. This is "too tempting" to many folks, especially in this day in age. Can this be fixed so that membership or registration is not complete unless there is payment. I believe with the browser version people can "sent a check" (which I can live with), but Mobil app users are most likely more technical and are used to paying on line anyway. If this was fixed we could really "talk up" the Mobil app to our membership. Regards, Bob Hart Administrator, Central Indiana Wilderness Club Account 214068

I got good help from Steve at Wild Apricot while working on a clone. He answered all my questions.

Am using this software service to manage the membership of a club with nearly 500 memberships. I did not receive any training prior to using the software but was able to generally figure out how things work. I think that this software would work well for other organizations that need to manage and track memberships, including payments.

Good functionality that is being improved all the time.

Switching to Wild Apricot was one of the best decisions our organization has made. We now can manage all our member data, take registrations for events and payments online. We can send emails to all or members or a select group of members with just a few keystrokes. Our one complaint for an association management application package, and it's pretty major from our viewpoint is that while our members receive automatic membership renewal notices it defaults to the type of membership they had for the just ending membership period. This is a problem because we have student memberships and that means that when a member who was a non-voting student member but has now completed their program and needs to join as a voting member they are not able to do so. They receive a renewal reminder that provides a renewal for ONLY a student membership. This issues applies not only to studen members who have completed their program, but also to members who were voting but have either retired or for some reason are not working in the legal field and don't qualify for a voting membership but still want to support our organization by staying on as associate members. This causes frustration and confusion and subsequently creates a lot of extra work which unfortunately negates some of the great efficiencies we love about Wild Apricot. Our organization would love to see this problem addresses and fixed.

Our organization only uses some of the functions at Wild Apricot but it works well for our membership records and email broadcasts. We find paying in American dollars quite expensive since the exchange rate has changed in the last several years. I am always happy to have the help function available when I run into questions.

I enjoy using Wild Apricot, but I would love more financial reporting capability by event.
