Going through the process of being sentenced was terrifying. I was facing guidelines for fraud loss of 97-121 months - the prosecutors were asking for 37 months (even considering cooperation) - but Joe (Joseph DeGregorio that is) helped me get ready for the PSR and Probation interview and the Probation officer recommended 24 months (even WITHOUT considering cooperation) - and I ended up getting a year and a day. I'll be home in ten months. The judge said it was the best PSR he had ever seen. Get with Joe and get started asap the Probation report can save your life.

I recently had the opportunity to work with White Collar Advice during a challenging period while my family member was incarcerated. The entire team was exceptional, but I want to highlight Cillian, one of their dedicated writers. His patience, professionalism, and unwavering support were invaluable to us. Cillian took the time to understand our unique situation, providing tailored advice and guidance that made navigating this difficult time more manageable. His consistent communication and empathetic approach reassured us that we were not alone. I wholeheartedly recommend White Collar Advice and commend Cillian for his outstanding service.

Guidance Beyond the Legal System
It is difficult to put into words what a person goes through, both mentally and emotionally, when facing sentencing. And the truth is, as much as lawyers want to believe we can understand, we simply can't. We do the best we can but in the end only the person going through that experience truly knows the difficulty of the situation.
White Collar Advice is the partner I can rely on to help guide clients through what is typically the most challenging experience of their life. They offer advice and resources that are not only practical and actionable, but proven to work.
Staring down the barrel of a federal sentence is often an isolating and lonely experience. Justin and his team are there not only to provide guidance, but to show people that they are not alone in this, that they are not just the sum of the worst decisions they ever made, and that there is still a fulfilling life after all of this is over. They care about their clients' success.
From preparing, strategizing, and mitigating for sentencing to helping people land back on their feet after prison, White Collar Advice is an invaluable partner to both attorneys and the people actually facing the consequences of their actions.
Their commitment to helping clients navigate both the practical and emotional challenges of federal sentencing has made them an essential partner in our field. I recommend them without hesitation to any attorney or individual seeking experienced, empathetic guidance through the federal criminal justice system.

Vadim, I am grateful for your review and the work you do. You covered something that most people don’t talk about—facing sentencing isn’t just about legal arguments. It’s about managing fear, uncertainty, and the reality of what’s coming.
That’s why we do this work. Sentencing is one of the hardest moments in a person’s life, and preparation makes a difference—understanding what a judge needs to see, documenting a record that shows growth, and making sure the right message gets through.
I know firsthand how isolating this can feel, but no one has to go through it alone. We’re grateful to work alongside you.
Thanks again for your trust and for being part of this work with us.

Experienced advocates who will help you succeed if you're willing to do the work
I was lucky to come home after my trial. The verdict was not at all what I had expected. I started reading and researching - trying to learn how to fix what went wrong. That's when I discovered WCA. From my very first conversation with Justin, to every interaction I have with his team, I learn new ways to advocate for myself. These are not theoretical lessons - they are practical things that I can start working on immediately and they are things that my Judge specifically commented on during Sentencing. Justin played an active role in helping me find the best firm to handle my Sentencing and my Appeal. Brad helped me with my narrative, assisted many of my character references in refining their message to the Court, and provided invaluable guidance in developing my prison release plan. Forrest helped me develop an incredible allocution, where I was able to maintain my innocence of criminal intent, while honestly accepting the consequences of my actions. Melissa helped my amazing family to hone in their emotions and to write deeply impactful letters to the Court. And Joseph, as well as Joshua, are always there to provide guidance and hope as I prepare for the next phase of my journey. Thanks to the work I did with WCA, I got the best possible outcome at Sentencing, where my Judge could really see me for the person I am at my core. The work I am now doing with WCA allows me to continue serving my community, while documenting my path to once again being a compelling and extraordinary person.

Hi Sadaq, we are grateful to know you and work alongside you. From our first call, you committed to doing the work—and you did, every day. You proved worthy of the love and support of your wonderful (and really really smart!) family.
Your judge saw you for who you truly are because you put in the effort to document it. You progress allowed you to overcome an over-the-top aggressive US Attorney. We were in this together—Brad, Melinda, Forrest, Joseph, Joshua, and our entire team—to make sure you had every tool to advocate for yourself and influence even the most cynical stakeholders.
Our team will be here to guide you the entire way and look forward to documenting your progress through Prison Professors Talent and your contributions to Prison Professors Charitable Corporation.
Thank you for your support and trust in our team.

Highest recommendation for Justin and his team!
Justin and his team at White collar advice have been a true godsend for me and our family. At a time when no one should have to walk this path alone on anything from picking the the best, most experienced, compassionate sentencing attorney to mitigation strategies for the best possible outcome, to mapping a plan for our family, no matter what happens with sentencing and appeal- our eldest daughter said it best when Justin left the meeting with all of us: “ no matter what happens at the hearing, we now have a plan and I feel that we are not alone”.
No one should walk this path alone whether you or a loved one is facing the legal system- Justin and his team are with you every step of the way.
Cannot recommend this company enough!! Well worth the investment as the peace of mind has been priceless.

Thank you, Ayesha, for your words. We admire you and your family for doing the work. Everyone wants the best outcome, but unfortunately, not everyone is willing to put in the effort required. You did—and your result reflects that commitment.
Hearing your daughter say, "we now have a plan and I feel that we are not alone," is exactly why we do this. No one should have to figure this out alone, and we’re grateful to know you and work with you.
We’ll continue to stand by you and your family, no matter what comes next. Wishing you strength and peace as you move forward.

Truly life changing work
White collar advice helped me to greatly reduce my sentence. I was able to properly and effectively advocate for myself to my judge.
Other than first explaining myself to my lawyer, not one other person asked for my side of the story. (Why I broke the law, not just the facts.) The government already had their version of events set in stone.
It’s up to the defendant to put in the work and make an impact on the judge.
I was sentenced to 12 months instead of 3 years thanks to white collar advice.
Response from White Collar AdviceFeb 5, 2025
You put in the work, and it made all the difference. Most people don’t realize that the government’s version is the only one the judge sees—unless they step up and do something about it. You did.
Going from three years to 12 months isn’t luck; it’s a result of the effort you put in. We’re grateful to have been part of the process and are here for whatever comes next.

Irreplaceable guidance and support
There is nothing more encouraging, assuring, and genuine—during a most overwhelming and regretful time after sentencing—than a group of people who have been through exactly what you are feeling and about to go through AND have made it their life mission to help others avoid their same mistakes and get through the future as honorably as possible.
Shame on me and myself only for not thinking to look for this Justin & team’s help much earlier in the process. You can have fantastic lawyers truly working hard for you but still not experienced in how you should navigate ALL aspects before and after sentencing. I cannot describe how important I now realize it is to have both teams working to guide you and fight for you and your family.
What I have experienced to date through Joe De Gregorio, Scotty Carper, Forrest Behne, Cillian Dunne, and founder Justin Paperny has been truly humbling and motivating. Their generous time and responsiveness to my questions—and the detail and clarity of their guidance backed by their personal experiences of what I am going through—are simply not replaceable. Their empathy is real and backed by how they spend time with you and what they say. Joe’s explanation of what to expect and what is important to do step by step during your surrender and first days of serving your sentence (and thereafter) required many pages of notes. That alone is priceless in how it prepared my mind and I cannot imagine showing up with zero preparation and learning on your own through further mistakes.
Ultimately, the continuing participation and support of so many former clients to their work is the strongest testimony, and I certainly hope to do the same when I am fortunate enough to have this all behind me.

We’re grateful for your words, but even more so for the effort you’ve put in. A lot of people don’t realize just how much more there is to this process. You saw it, and you took action.
Joe, Scotty, Forrest, and Cillian will appreciate knowing how much their guidance meant to you. The fact that you’re already thinking about paying it forward says everything about the kind of person you are. We’ll be here for you every step of the way.
