Fraudulent billing, time padding, deceptive estimates
AVOID! Worst moving experience I've had. Simple 1 bed local move and the way they pad time and fraudulently bill their breaks as working time is the most egregious I've seen from any moving company. They took a 45 min break (I timed it because it was obvious what they were doing) and then showed up "we're done with our 15 minute break!" Completely ridiculous. After about 40 mins I realized they would never finish without help so I started moving stuff myself and contributed at least an hour of work. They still billed me for an hour more than the 4 hour max of their estimated time + travel (because they were moving sooooooo inefficiently). Had to call and complain multiple times to get refunded for some of the fraudulent overcharges. To their credit, they did give me a partial refund for most of the overbilled time. But I would still definitely avoid this place. If you do go with them expect to have to watch and direct them constantly while videoing to gather evidence of their breaks or they will try to deny it when they leave. As far as I'm concerned they will try to scam you unless you are pushing back on it constantly. I have no idea how they have any positive reviews. Maybe they're fabricating and filtering their website reviews or have some teams somewhere that aren't like their NOVA people.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience. After receiving your complaint, we spoke in detail with the crew that completed your move. Several factors affected the total time, including extreme heat that day in the DC area — around 98°F, unloading to the 3rd floor, multiple trips up and down the stairs due to loose/unboxed items, and heavy boxes, likely containing books. In addition, furniture had to be properly protected with moving blankets, which takes time but is necessary to avoid damage. The crew took a 30-minute break due to the heat and physical conditions of the move. This break was recorded in the contract, and you were not charged for that time. Your total estimate was up to 4 hours and 30 minutes. The signed contract showed 5 hours and 15 minutes, and we refunded 45 minutes so your final charge would stay within the estimated time discussed at booking. Your move was completed in full, and all items were delivered safely with no reported damage. We also want to clarify that all of our customer reviews are real, and we take the quality of both our office support and moving crews very seriously. We respectfully feel that a 1-star review does not fully reflect the completed service, the safe delivery of your belongings, the difficult conditions of the move, and the refund that was provided. That said, we appreciate your feedback and will continue using it to improve our service.
