FINAL UPDATE: Adding one star because the item i ordered did eventually show up. So they're not a scam, but they absolutely tried to bribe me to leave a good review, which I reported to the FTC. 3rd UPDATE: 62 days in transit and FedEx still doesn't have the package. 2nd UPDATE: Despite the lovely response they wrote below, they A) absolutely did structure their offer for 50% refund as a bribe, saying they would process it only after I showed them a screenshot of an updated trustpilot review reflecting satisfactory resolution, B) have not agreed to the refund, my bank still shows the dispute as pending merchant response, and C) I still don't have my light after 56 days in transit. UPDATE: they saw this review and then tried to bribe me with 50% refund conditioned on updating this review to reflect a more positive experience. Unfortunately that’s illegal, and I’ll be reporting them. It’s now been 40+ days and I still don’t have my light. They gave a delivery estimate of 20-30 days. My one light I've ordered has now been in transit for 37 days and I've not gotten one single proactive notification about a delay. I reached out to customer service and they had the audacity to be like "this is the nature of international shipping" as though we haven't all been living in a global economy for several decades. Order your lighting elsewhere.

Hi Caroline, We’re truly sorry again for the frustration this order has caused. Waiting this long for a light is not the experience we want for any customer, and we understand why this has been so disappointing. According to our logistics updates, the package was delayed due to an extended customs inspection after arriving in the U.S. While customs inspections are outside of our direct control, we still take responsibility for the overall customer experience. We should have communicated the delay more proactively, and we sincerely apologize for not doing better there. We also want to address your concern about the partial refund clearly. The 50% refund was originally offered as compensation for the delay, along with another option to send a replacement light by expedited air shipment. However, we recognize that our follow-up message was worded poorly by connecting the timing of the refund to an updated Trustpilot review. That was not the right way to handle it, and we sincerely apologize. Refunds and customer support should never depend on a review being changed, and we are correcting this internally. At this point, we have accepted the full chargeback/refund on our end. If your bank still shows the dispute as pending, that may be due to the card issuer or payment processor’s timeline, but we are happy to provide any confirmation needed. We also want to clarify that we did not intend to dismiss your concerns. Our team has continued following up on the shipment, and based on the latest update, the package is expected to be released from customs and handed over for final delivery. If it is delivered, you may keep the light at no cost. Again, we are very sorry for the delay, the lack of proactive updates, and the way the refund communication came across. We take after-sales support seriously, and we will use this experience to improve how we communicate and resolve issues for our customers going forward. Best regards, Joy The Vinlighting Team
