free version full of bugs on purpose
the 2 first time I used the software it was working well, then the more you use their free version the more there is bugs inside the editor, weird noise space before your video cuts impossible to remove, you can't insert videos anymore, they have put bugs in the free version in order for you to buy the Pro Version, Really really bad way of dealing with free customers, removed from my software, USELESS !!!!!

Hello, We are genuinely sorry to hear about the issues you encountered while using our software. However, we want to clarify that we do not intentionally introduce bugs in the free version to push users to buy the Pro Version. The installer for both the free and paid versions is the same, and the program simply activates with the appropriate key. To better understand and resolve the problems you faced, we'd appreciate it if you could provide us with more information. Have you reached out to our support team regarding these issues? Knowing more about the specific projects you were working on (e.g., high-resolution files) and your PC's specifications could help us identify the root cause. Additionally, in our latest version, we introduced a proxy option that is entirely free and may help with lags even on less powerful PCs. We value your feedback and want to ensure a better experience for all our users.

SCAM!
SCAM!!! This software is clearly advertised as "FREE Video Editor" BULL-S...!!! This is just a demo/lite version! You can not even use simple opacity automation with the lite version in fact this is useless until you buy it. I'd be fine with that but THIS IS NOT A FREE VIDEO EDITOR!! SCAM!!!! ITS NOT FREE so dont advertise it as FREE!!!

Hello, We take allegations of scam very seriously and would like to investigate your situation further to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of integrity in our business. Could you please provide more details about your experience and the specific issue you are encountering? It would be helpful to know if you have already reached out to our support team for assistance. Regarding the transparency feature, we want to clarify that it is indeed available for free. All our paid features are clearly listed on our website. If you happen to use a tool from the PRO version, a warning window will appear in the lower right corner, and during the export stage, you will see a window indicating that the Pro option has been applied. The window will also inform you that the project will be exported without this feature if you choose to click "Continue." We are here to help and would appreciate the opportunity to address any concerns you may have. Please let us know how we can assist you further.

Great program
Great program, saved me a lot of time and effort many times already. I often wanted to make "fancy" videos supporting research papers, e.g. several movies pasted into one, different playback speeds, overlays, and that kind of stuff, and VSDC never failed to save me a lot of time and give me great results. I've just purchased the pro, which was not necessary for my purposes, but I did anyway. Simply because the free version in hindsight was already well worth the 20 USD, and I would gladly support the company to continue this program. Great program, can definitely recommend using it if you are in an academic setting or in a corporate setting and want to deliver clean instruction/descriptive videos.

Good starting point for a newbie editor
The free version is more than enough for casual editing, be it memes or youtube videos. It's really easy to learn and operate. I never knew that greenscreen editing could be this easy. VSCD is almost like a toyota corolla of video editor. Affordable, reliable and stylish :D

The only best Free Video Editing Software (imo)
First of all, i train people at work. It's gotten to the point im tired of doing it again and again and im getting old. So I started looking for lecture softwares that'd help me. I used plenty if not a lot, i wasn't happy with their free use, due to Ads, limited use and those watermarks. A friend told me of VSDC. For a free software you can use many options already. no Ads, no watermarks and they dont reduce your video quality and don't have limited use, of course more will be available upon Pro use. So, why 4 stars? I like it really, havent experienced any issues, they update plenty and has a good changelog. I usually make mine always 4 stars not to be biased and i will change it sooner or later if my experience become better or worse so that it'd be a fair review (for me of course) EDIT: Feb 12-2025 Changed from 4 to 5 stars, I actually bought the pro version for a year which can be used for two computers since it's cheap and they deserve the support. I honestly have no idea what changed from free to pro but i prefer VSDC among others
