BEWARE OF GETTING A HELOC!
I paid off my HELOC and the lender I used overpaid by $1,660.00 which was due to me. I called and was told a check would be mailed to me within a week, then when I didn't receive it, called again and told it would be in 2 weeks. I finally received a check for a ridiculous $98 with no explanation as to why it wasn't the $1,660.00 a week ago. When I called again I was told there was over $1,400 in fees they took out after closing, and I finally received a statement showing I was charged "expense fees" with no explanation of $475, $450, $450, $14.95, $14.95 that came out of my overpayment. In the last week I've spent HOURS speaking with 6 different customer service reps, even going into the branch meeting Seto the manager, and not a single one of them would tell me what those fees were for. I then called last Friday speaking with the loan supervisor Melissa in Colorado Springs for over an hour and she said she had never seen such high fees and couldn't explain what they were for. I have filed a BBB claim and I want my money asap! Read other reviews in various places because this seems to be common with their helocs. BEWARE!
