12,500 feet to sea level in two weeks at Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley and the Galapagos Islands.
Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley and the Galapagos Islands in two fabulous weeks. Born from our bucket list and prepared by Vaya Tours this was two weeks of amazing new experiences every day. Don't ask me to say which was the best as every adventure was more than I expected. Pre travel planning was excellent. Our travel transfers were perfect (and there were many) and accommodations were above my expectations. Food was very good and I came back the same weight as I left! Lucky we were so active. This was a very active trip but the guides could vary the experiences as we wanted and needed. The educational part was immeasurable and our guides all spoke excellent English. And our drivers of the 7 passenger van were incredible. I learned so much! And I took many memorable photos with my I Phone. A better camera would of course yield better pictures but the memories would be the same. It wouldn't have been a problem to take a better camera though. The picture of the Blue Footed Booby and the Albatross with her baby taken by someone with a better camera are priceless. I felt safe in all of our travel, guided by the whats, who's and where's of the Vaya tours planning. Highlights were hiking the last seven miles of the Inka trail and seeing Machu Picchu spread out before you from the Sun Gate, seeing Andean culture and eating Peruvian food, scuba diving and snorkeling at the equator, hiking on the islands and looking at all of the birds and animals of the Galapagos and traveling on a sixteen passenger catamaran with other people with the same interests. All I could ask for would have been another week and now another trip to South America!
