I just finished up writing my book with Vanguard ghost writing. The process of getting the book written was easy and there writers are good. A few hiccups I experienced on the way was that the project manager changed two times from the beginning which I didn’t love. Midway through the book process, they told me that I would need to pay additional for my book cover, which I looked elsewhere for. And now that the book is done, they are trying to charge me an additional $1800 to get the book published. When I signed the contract with them, they assured me that everything was included, but now they are tacking on fees And holding my book hostage.

They left my project's Chapter One revision until the final hours of a week-long deadline, and it shows. The "revision" consists entirely of stripping out specific names and replacing them with generic words, with no actual editing or polishing of the prose. Because it was rushed, they introduced basic spacing and formatting errors that ruined the quality of the text. This horrible excuse for a revision was caused by their first submission, which mysteriously included my notes to the writer within the story itself. They claimed the writer assumed I wanted these notes included, even though two different examples of the chapter I provided did not include them. I want to note that AI frequently makes these types of errors, which makes their initial work on my chapter highly suspicious. And when I asked them why they didn't follow the submission guidelines they agreed to, they said they wanted to ask me about that! Who waits until they submit an assignment to ask submission questions? When we last spoke on the phone, their representative's conversation often became heated, with an absolutely toxic, condescending, and shockingly rude tone directed my way. His responses were evasive and unprofessional, marked by gaslighting, blame-shifting, and open contempt. I tried to make it work, but they failed at every point, communication included! It is my opinion that once you ask for a revision of any work, they do not give your project the allotted attention in the contract going forward. That was my experience.

This company is the worst. Amateurs across the board - fake executive names - My book was supposed to launch prior to the holidays, my editor/PM (Serena Hoffman) went radio silent for 3 months, completely missing the holiday buying season. I finally got them to reply and they put another person on my account (Lucas) - competent but it is a a series of delay tactics over and over. Any review that is more than a 1 star has to be fake. They use AI to write, edit, format, design graphics that my kid in elementary school could have done. STAY AWAY!!!

The WORST communicators, period. Things started out smoothly with vanguard, they did their job and I did mine. The quality of writing I received was top notch. The issue comes down to their processes and communication standards. I went through THREE project managers, each more incompetent than the last. E-mails were routinely ignored, requests ignored, Conversations often got heated, with absolutely toxic, condescending, shockingly rude tones beIng thrown by way, repeatedly, by three project managers in a row, with one PM finally just disappearing off the face of the earth, with zero explanation or contingency. efforts at reaching other departments were constantly rebuffed, and their reaction to being called out / faced with the truth was to cancel my project entirely. No negotiation, no due process, nothing. Just cut off, after months of deep emotional labour, as I worked through trauma, heartbreak, disabilities and anxiety to get my story onto paper. I am devastated by the way this turned out and I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone. The entire company presents an improbable collision of gross incompetence, arrogance, condescension,a void of professionalism, ineptitude and pathological lying. It gets even worse, believe it or not. I was owed a refund for citation services I paid for that they never delivered on, which they then threatened to withhold unless I agreed to take down my Trustpilot review . They then claimed they couldn't process my refund because my "card was blocked" (it wasn't, this was another lie), then demanded my private banking information. I told them I've been scammed before and I wouldn't be doing that, and they again threatened to withhold payment/(the refund) until I gave them my banking info . Much to my chagrin I finally gave them what they wanted, hopefully it wasn't a mistake. I did take the review down for just long enough to get paid, and have put it right back once I did. Lastly, and this isn't proven, but I have every reason to believe that they were going to try to scam me in the end, and try to charge me a "completion fee" of thousands of dollars, before handing over the finished product. **Do not use this company.** They are not worth the enormous, comically terrible pain in the ass they've been.

If you want someone who is thoughtful about their work and cares about your project almost as much as you, then I highly recommend them.

I haven't witnessed this level of dedication to customer satisfaction that they delivered, will definitely work with them on my memoir!
