They sent me a motor for a 2014 jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6 motor about a year ago. After a couple of weeks the lifter was making a lot of noise. I called them and found with them for 2 months before they agreed to send me a 2nd motor. I wanted my money back and I bought the 3year warranty. They told me that I had to accept the second motor or I would loose my money. I had them send the second motor which I had to pay the mechanic to replace the other motor so I had to pay twice because they sent me a bad motor. Now they send me the other motor I have be running it for about 8 months now. The engine light keeps coming on. The mechanic told mechanic the rocker arm in cylinder 3 was worn badly. I told used engines and sent them pictures and they’re trying to blame my mechanic for their bad engine. Save yourself the stress and don’t buy from used engines in Houston Texas.

Ordered an 07 engine and asked for…
Ordered an 07 engine and asked for pictures in there description it showed 06 . I refused it and a few days later they said they found the correct year . I said ok . I asked for photos and the description was blurry . Then and engine showed up 3 days earlier than i planned . Good thing i was home to recieve it and I unwrapped it and it had 06 on it . I went through 3 months of arguing back and fourth . $1900 to them . $4000 to credit company because I had it financed . Junk engine still sitting in my yard . All I want is a refund and they need to go to jail for scamming people . 3 months and still no car sucks . And buisness needs shut down . Engine has a Crack in the block and leaking antifreeze . And looks very old . And like it has sat out in the weather for ever .

Poor communication and straight up lies.
I am furious with the situation about my order with Used Engines. If I could give zero stars I would.
I originally was given a quote for two different engines, one with 123k miles for $2,200+ tax and another with 79k miles for $4,100+tax. I opted for the motor with 123k miles. The purchasing process was extremely easy and fast, the communication with Erica at first, and then Elena after the purchase was pretty good and fast… up until the motor arrived.
Prior to the engine shipping i was told I would receive pictures of the engine to verify it before it shipped. I did ask for a copy of the VIN number from the donor vehicle just for my maintenance records and I was told that it would be too difficult for them to keep track of all the VIN numbers so they couldn’t provide it but I was assured the engine would be throughly tested prior to shipping.
The engine arrived in a timely manner and the shipping company did a good job with no damage… however, the engine was NOT the same engine that i was sent a picture of, which was kind of blurry which i found odd and kind of a red flag. Comparing key features on the engine vs the picture, they obviously sent a picture of a motor that was in better exterior condition. On top of that, right on top of the intake manifold it had the mileage written on it… 176,383! I would have expected a motor being sold as 123k miles to be within a couple thousand miles, not over 50k miles over.
Furthermore, after doing some initial investigating into the engine, it was obvious that the motor was not tested before being shipped, the coil pack screws had not been removed in quite a while as well as the spark plugs DEFINITELY not being removed in a very extended period. The engine also has the vin number stamped on the side and pulling up the car fax, the engine has even MORE miles on it, over 180,000!!
While they were quick to respond and answer any questions I had while trying to take my money and before the engine showed up, now I am getting the run around after a month has gone by since bringing this situation to their attention. At the beginning of December 2025 I started speaking with a Daniel who said he was going to assist with the situation. A week later he said the warranty team has an engine with 132k miles they could ship out by the upcoming weekend. After that he kept saying “maybe today or tomorrow” that it would ship out and he would send me tracking info along with the VIN number of the replacement.
Update: Jan 6 2026 and Daniel is now telling me that the warranty team has been reviewing the case and are trying to argue that the vehicle only had 146,000 miles in 2025, even though a simple VIN check proves it has double that. This company is an absolute joke and a scam! Still no resolution with them.
Update: Jan 7 2026: was able to call the actual shipper on the BOL and they confirmed the mileage of the engine of at least 187k miles. Not sure where UE “warranty” dept is getting their “info” from.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating unexpected engine issues can be, especially after the time and money invested in installation and related repairs.
That said, we want to clarify that our warranty decision was based strictly on documented physical evidence and the written warranty terms agreed to at the time of purchase. The heat tab shown in the photos you provided indicated an overheating event, which—per both the signed warranty agreement and the invoice—falls outside warranty coverage. This determination was made by our warranty team using standard industry guidelines, not as a means to withhold support.
We respectfully disagree with the characterization of our company. Used Engines INC operates as a legally registered U.S. business and follows established warranty policies consistently for all customers.
We regret that this situation did not have the outcome you were hoping for and appreciate you sharing your feedback. If you would like to discuss the matter further or need copies of the documentation reviewed, our support team remains available.

BE AWARE!!!
If I could give 0000 stars I would. I purchased a 2013 toyota highlander engine with approximately 49000 miles on it back in 10/10/2025 once my mechanic received the engine(almost a month later) he called to inform me that from the look of the engine it's not less than 100,000 miles and oil leak and so forth so I contact the person I have been dealing with(Elena) at the Used Engine and she firmly stated that my mechanic was wrong blah blah, I was like OK so I check the VIN number with DMV and Boom!!!!! The engine has 189000 miles basically the whole engine history so they LIED!!! So I contacted Elena back to tell her what i have found , at first she didn't believe me until I showed her proof then the game started. She tried to play me by saying the engine i got was the right one but the paperwork attached with it was the wrong due to mixed up at the warehouse so basically she will send the right paperwork, I was like nope , you will pick up your engine and will send me the engine i paid for or I will take the legal route so she "escalated " to Daisy and Daisy was even worst. At this point I didn't trust them anymore so request my refund and send a Certified Letter to the Galleria location office, few days later i get a call from daisy begging me to accept a new shipment with the right engine So we agreed upon them replacing the engine with the one I ordered with the correct miles on it and Daisy promised to deliver the correct engine to my mechanic mid November and guess what ? They couldn't produce that engine because either they didn't have it or they will lose money because I paid almost 4k. So right before Thanksgiving I get a call from Daisy again " im sorry but we will just refund you your money and we are so sorry" I was like WTF???? At this point I have been without a car for almost 2 months!!!!! I was so mad and disappointed 😞. After that I stopped answering their calls or apology emails and wanted my money back so finally earlier December literally 10 days ago I received my money back. I will never ever recommend them to anyone even if they are giving away free engines. They are the biggest scammed . PLEASE PLEASE do your due diligence by checking and making sure they sold you the right engine the one you actually paid for! If my mechanic was one of these mechanics that just wanted to get paid for the job, he would have just put the engine in the I will be dealing with car issues afterwards but luckily my mechanic is an honest one and have been dealing with hin for over 15 years! Wait of time, energy and money!

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating an extended vehicle delay can be. That is never the outcome we want for our customers.
After reviewing the situation and communicating with you, a full refund of USD $2,800.97 was issued on December 2, 2025, to the original method of payment. We regret that we were unable to meet your expectations and apologize for the inconvenience this caused.
