Not good at all!

Despegar blocked credit card I used for the ticket purchase after Imade the booking. And they didn't even inform that to me until I checked on the portal. they couldn't solve this charge issue and therefore didn't proceed my booking. --- I used this credit card for other bookings at the same time but had problem with only DESPEGAR. I suggest you use more trustful company even their service is a little more expensive because its worth to avoid any kind of problem with DESPEGAR.

We booked a room at The Shamrock Hotel, Bendigo, and were given a confirmation number, then for some reason at 11.23pm that night, the booking was cancelled with no explanation given. We will never use this site again!!

Please do not purchase your travel / air / hotel / etc. through Despegar.com. If you try to call their customer service line for any reason at all, you are prompted by an automated operator to enter an 8-digit Booking Number that is no where to be found on their email confirmations, when you are unable to enter it, they hang up on you. Tried this over a dozen times with different confirmation numbers, only to always be disconnected. This is clearly deceitful sales tactics. If you do make the mistake of a purchase, I suggest you contact your bank immediately and report it as fraudulent activity to get your money back. Despegar.com es una empresa poco seria y no confiable. Si por alguna razon necesita comunicarse con ellos, gastara tiempo perdido entrando digitos invalidos suminstrados por ellos mismos en los supuestos correos que le envian de confirmacion, para siempre terminar desconectado. Si por algun motivo ya hizo una compra con ellos, sugiero de que llamen de inmediato a su banco a reportarla como una transaccion fraudulenta para que le regresen su dinero.

every time I clicked on the cheaper ticket it showed as not available. However when I refreshed the page the ticket was there. It was very frustrating. I believe it is done on purpose, if your ticket is not available you have to buy the next more expensive. I tried this with all my computers, at home and at my office.

Decidi cancelar un crucero y me aplican el 90% de penalidad, pero no sobre el costo del viaje, si no tambien, en los impuestos y tazas gubernamentales. Cuidado.

My wife purchased flight tickets in Colombian pesos when the charge came through to her Credit card it was in Chilean pesos meaning that she paid nearly triple the price that she would have paid booking direct with Avianca. We have tried repeatedly to contact the company only to be run round in phone loops and telephone numbers that do not work she has now had the money that was taken refunded to her CC account by Barclaycard, As of today I have had no Response from Despegar.com (PLEASE CHECK YOUR BOOKINGS AND BANK STATEMENTS AFTER USING THIS COMPANY)
