Moving Prime LinesReviews of unitedprimevanlines.com

Unmitigated failure from start to finish. We booked our move through Safe Ship. They are a broker who utilized United Prime Van Lines to actually move our stuff. Our nightmare began 2 days prior to scheduled pick-up with the bait & switch of an increase in cubic square footage even though we had removed a queen bedroom set, 10 boxes and other items. If we didn't pay the extra $800, we lost our deposit. We paid expedited shipping with a delivery date of 9-4 to 9-7 which is clearly noted at the top of the contract. Buried deep within that contract was a get out of jail free card actually giving them 10 days from the date of pick-up to deliver. No matter, they blew past that and did not deliver until 9/16. We were never able to get an actual date for delivery so we were stuck in another state, in a hotel, and incurred $2000 in living expenses we weren't expecting. Fed Up, broke and needing to seek medical care, we drove 400 miles back home with the assurance we would be given 24 hours notice of delivery. We were home one day, called at 4pm and told to be back in CO for a 9am delivery. We negotiated a 3pm so we didn't have to drive all night. Driver showed at 6pm alone and In a rented truck. He was a nice guy but didn't speak English and had a broken screen on his phone rendering making payment almost impossible. We were to be reimbursed the expedited fee of $430 but the driver couldn't do that and wouldn't open the truck unless we paid. We paid just to end the pain. When he opened the gate, our boxes were crushed under belongings of the next delivery. Of the 16 boxes, 13 had damage. We lost 80% of our glassware, vintage MCM dinner set, damage to an MCM chair, etc. We had to help the driver unload the truck and when we queried the owner Alex via the phone he said it was our fault for moving to a small town. He also told us to stop unloading or he would have the driver leave and come back once I could find help. We told him we would stop but helped finish unloading anyway. A few days later, we started posting reviews on Safe Ship and this is when things took an ugly turn. We have received calls daily from both Safe Ship and UPVL (and if you don't pick up they call back repeatedly till you do). We were threatened by Andrew of UPVL that if we didn't remove the reviews we would be sued. He called back 2 days later insinuating we weren’t very bright for not taking the money because Safe Ship could care less about a bad review (big company, lots of employees, blah blah blah). Furthermore, if we filed a claim with their insurance, we wouldn't get close to their offer. We have been harassed daily and advised by both Safe Ship and UPVL that we can receive reimbursement BUT only if we change the star rating from 1 to 4 and would need to sign a release stating we would stop posting and filing claims with federal agencies. When I advised we were owed for a cubic footage overcharge and damage not for reviews, we were told we weren't owed anything. We lost family heirlooms. The expense of extra living costs as well as the physical/mental toll of not knowing when, where or if our belongings would ever be delivered was immeasurable. Our last name isn't Rockefeller and the money would've helped offset our expenses and loss, but our integrity isn't for sale. I can't get my things back, but I sure can warn others. Heed this post and keep looking. Go with a company that is actually accredited with the BBB (spoiler alert: neither Safe Ship nor UPVL are. Their websites are misleading. Look it up). Its worth it to spend more on a reputable company.

On day of pick up, they upped the volume from 500 cf to 728 cf, resulting in an additional $1K. They sent a van to pick up. The 3 largest vans that moving companies use are: Van Model Cargo VolumeMax Payload Capacity Ford TransitT-350 HD 536.4 cu. ft. Up to 5,103 lbs Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 533.0 cu. ft. Up to 5,000+ lbs Ram ProMaster 524.0 cu. ft. Up to 4,600+ lbs So just wondering, how over 728 cf is able to fit in a van with a capacity max of 536 cf. (only 1 van was sent) That is an increase of 36% in cf volume. Did not seem honest to me. Also, included is pic of BOL, so you know the facts I stated are correct. I feel that I was swindled. The woman I was dealing with on the phone went to great lengths to tell me how great a packer the driver was, still, you cannot stuff 728 cf into a van with a capacity of 536 cf, at best. This was for a 1 bedroom apartment. At least, I learned to never use a moving company again. First and last time, especially this outfit.

This is a very bad moving company, they constantly added fees for shuttles, stairs, cardboard packaging, etc. in addition they DO NOT let you confirm items or look at them prior to signing contract and final payment. Me personally I would never book with them again and I encourage you to look into it before you do!! In addition to the delivery taking 3+ weeks. Do as you wish but I wouldn’t recommend.

I am so enraged at this bait trap company! My friend is moving from California to Montana. Her mother paid the people to move their stuff to Montana. They already made a fair deal and signed it so the price couldn't change. My friend drove to their new house in Montana on July 5th thinking their stuff is coming. WRONG! The workers reached out saying that they won't deliver their stuff without extra money even though they already settled on a deal! Who knows what happened to their stuff? It's currently August 27th / 2026 and they still didn't get their stuff and the workers didn't even reach out with updates etc. My friend's mother is going to sue them but I wanted you guys to know that if you are moving to different states make sure they will actually deliver it without making you pay wayy extra! Unbelievable!

I hired United Prime Van Lines as the carrier for my move from Washington to California, arranged through Elevated Moving Experts. The experience was extremely disappointing. Before pickup, I had disclosed to the broker that I would be transporting a toaster oven and other large items that would not fit in medium boxes. These items were approved as long as they contained no flammable materials. When United Prime’s movers arrived, however, they rejected the items because they were not boxed and offered to pack them in $75 boxes. I declined and had to rearrange and remove belongings on moving day. After loading, the carrier estimated that my shipment required approximately 800 cubic feet and increased the price from $2900 to approximately $3,600. This was especially frustrating because I had already provided dimensions for my large items, and my desk was fully disassembled. I was given the choice of accepting the increased charge or canceling while losing my deposit and potentially paying a cancellation fee. At delivery, I was charged an additional $300 based on an estimate that the truck was more than 300 feet from my home, although I measured the distance afterward at approximately 225 feet. The movers also defined a flight of stairs as seven steps, causing 15 steps to count as three chargeable units. Several belongings arrived damaged or incomplete. My bench and vacuum had dents, the motor on my standing desk was damaged and no longer works, and critical pieces of my bed frame were missing. The delivery crew stopped responding when I asked about the missing parts. Overall, the move cost close to $4,000, and the process involved unexpected charges, inconsistent handling of approved items, and property damage. I would not recommend United Prime Van Lines based on my experience.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to think carefully before trusting them with their belongings. My experience with this moving company was one of the most disappointing service experiences I have ever had. From the move itself to the claims process afterward, the entire experience was defined by delays, poor communication, lack of transparency, and a complete lack of ownership when things went wrong. I initially chose this company after working with a broker who recommended them. I trusted the process and believed I was working with professionals who would properly handle my belongings. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. My shipment arrived 14 days later than promised. When my belongings finally arrived, I discovered more than $4,000 worth of damage. Furniture was damaged, personal items were broken, and my OLED television—which I paid extra to have professionally packed by their movers—was destroyed. The television damage was especially frustrating. This was not a case of poor packaging. Based on the condition it arrived in, it was clearly mishandled during transport. You do not accidentally bend the frame of an OLED television. I paid additional money specifically for professional packing because I trusted their team to protect my belongings, only to receive it back broken. Throughout the move, I was charged additional fees, including long-carry charges and packing fees. I accepted those charges because I believed I was paying for a professional moving service that would properly handle my possessions. Instead, I paid more and received a delayed shipment, damaged belongings, and months of frustration trying to get a fair resolution. The claims process has been even more disappointing than the move itself. For more than two months, I have spent countless hours completing claim forms, submitting photos, responding to emails, making phone calls, leaving voicemails, and following every instruction provided. I have extensive email chains and text messages documenting my attempts to resolve this matter. Despite providing everything requested, I continued being asked for the same information and documentation that had already been submitted. The process felt less like a genuine effort to resolve an issue and more like a cycle designed to delay progress. My experience with Molly from Customer Success was particularly disappointing. Customer Success should be focused on supporting customers, advocating for solutions, and helping resolve issues. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Instead of helping move my claim forward, conversations repeatedly focused on what I "should have done" or what "could have been" done differently. Rather than feeling like someone was working on my behalf, I felt like I was being redirected back to forms, emails, and requests that had already been completed. I repeatedly requested to speak with a manager or someone with the authority to help resolve the situation, but that never resulted in meaningful progress. To this day, I have never had a conversation with an actual claims reviewer or someone who could take ownership of the issue. For a company responsible for moving people's homes and personal belongings, the lack of communication, transparency, and accountability has been extremely disappointing. After all of this, I was offered $75 to settle a claim involving more than $4,000 in documented damages. That settlement does not reflect the extent of the damage, the 14-day delivery delay, the additional fees I paid, the professional packing charges, or the countless hours I have spent trying to resolve an issue that should have been handled professionally from the beginning. Mistakes happen in every industry. The true measure of a company is how it responds when those mistakes occur. Unfortunately, this experience showed a lack of urgency, ownership, and commitment to making things right. The bare minimum would have been acknowledging the failures, standing behind the service provided, and working toward a fair resolution. Instead, I was left chasing updates, repeating myself, and fighting for a resolution that should have been handled without this level of effort from the customer. Moving companies are entrusted with some of the most personal and valuable possessions people own. That responsibility requires care, professionalism, and accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. If you decide to use them, document everything, ask detailed questions, and make sure every commitment is clearly provided in writing. I hope others can avoid the experience I went through.

Horrible experience and still I do not have my stuff. Horrible communication. Charged so much more after I sent photo of exactly what I had paid over 1200 more so far and I have not received my belonging. They keep promising me this weekend and this weekend is here and nothing. My entire life is in that truck. They picked up at 8:00 pm on 7/04 with really creepy men one looked all beat up like he was in a fight. Very scary and not professional at all. I have contacted a lawyer and will contact the authorities. Booked with Eric and he seemed professional to me and assured me everything will be fine. Then Felix called and we did a bill of lading and another almost 100.00 more was due. I was told that half more would be around 900.00 at pick up and then the rest at pick up. Which i was fine with. At pick up iT was $2,000. Really what a difference. I was told $740.00 is due at delivery. Ok They said only Zell or cash on delivery. Very weird I don't have Zell and not getting it. Carrie called me and said delivery in a few days last week. Nope nothing. I called in talked to Molly and she said she will look into this. She got back tome and said you should hear something by this weekend. So far nothing. Another false promises. I am an older lady and living in an empty apartment sleeping on the floor with nothing. Unacceptable. I need a updated asap.

*****BEWARE!!! This is not United Van Lines. We hired them thinking it was. And boy were we wrong. Stay far away from these people.
