Always excellent! Great places, correct timing to see the birds, great guides who are knowledgeable about the countries, birds and other wildlife, and they are always helpful if there are problems. l always have wonderful experiences when I travel with TB and will be going again later this year.

Have taken 4 tours with Tropical Birding. Would recommend this company to any serious birders. Final trip lists were always impressive, guides were very professional and made special efforts to ensure a good trip for everyone.

Our tour guide, Sam Woods, and our local guide, Luis Paz, worked tirelessly to find and show us the birds of Panama. I cannot imagine a more enjoyable trip. I would follow Sam just about anywhere in the world!

We have toured both Madagascar and Costa Rica with Tropical Birding in recent months. Given that Madagascar is a tough place and that distances are enormous (and the roads sub-standard), the tour took us to the best remaining spots for unique wildlife in an otherwise devastated near-continent. Ken Behrens is an excellent resident (American born) guide. We recommend the standard tour plus extensions to the NW and Masoala if you are up for it! In Costa Rica, we were guided by locally-based Fito Downs and, having arranged a 24-day custom tour, were happy to share Fito and 438 species of birds with our (2) companions from Namibia. We opted for extensions both to the Panama and Nicaraguan borders which were very productive and interesting. We are very happy with the Tropical Birding approach and are looking forward to our next adventure with TB next February. Ecuador, here we come! Local guide experience generally is the icing on the cake; you will go to places and meet people and see birds you would miss with other operators. Marian adds, rightly, that office staff are excellent in the run-up to booking, the booking process and in arranging arriving early, city tours, and such-like. Nice people to deal with. Had a wonderful trip. The guides went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The birding was amazing. The local guide really knew where to go to find what we wanted to see. And made sure everyone in the group got to see the specials.

I have taken two trips with Tropical Birding and am scheduled for another already. They are an excellent company with expert, friendly guides and good drivers - these people have hard jobs and they do it superbly. The mini-busses we've had have been spacious and I believe have afforded all or most to have two seats (which is needed for gear and just general comfort). The days are long, but these trips are designed to see many birds. In general I would greatly prefer nicer accommodations, but I think this is a function of the infrastructure and general situation with birding than with TB.

We have had 2 wonderful trips with Tropical Birding. The last was to Madagascar with Ken...it was above perfect.

As always, Sam Woods was a star. Looking forward to using Tropical Birding and Sam again, and again, and again.
