We're genuinely sorry that you're disappointed with the outcome of your case. We understand how stressful resolving IRS tax debt can be, and we never like to see a client leave frustrated. Because we respect every client's confidentiality, we cannot discuss the specific facts of your case in a public forum. However, we do want to provide some context for anyone considering an IRS Offer in Compromise (OIC). An Offer in Compromise is one of the most complex resolution programs offered by the IRS. Approval is never guaranteed, regardless of who prepares the case. The IRS bases its decision on a taxpayer's current financial condition, compliance with filing and estimated tax payment requirements, and many other factors that can change while a case is pending. Even a well-qualified case can become ineligible if circumstances change or if IRS requirements are no longer met. Our firm has successfully negotiated hundreds of Offers in Compromise over the years. Before recommending that option, we perform a detailed financial analysis using IRS financial statements to determine whether an offer appears to be a viable solution. If we do not believe a client has a reasonable chance of qualifying, we recommend other resolution options instead. Throughout any IRS representation, it is also important that clients work closely with their representative before providing financial information directly to the IRS or taking actions that could affect the case. Maintaining ongoing compliance and following the agreed strategy are essential to giving any resolution option the best opportunity for success. We appreciate that every client's experience is unique, and we're disappointed we weren't able to achieve the outcome everyone hoped for in this matter. We sincerely wish you the very best moving forward.

Unfortunately, you did not provide your name to contact you and address your concerns. Based on your comments it appears that you are disappointed that your refund was not more and that you had to pay for your tax return. I sympathize with wanting a bigger refund, but no tax accountant can legally generate a larger refund than you are entitled to. All tax services charge for their time and services to prepare the return and file it independent of whether the return is a refund or a balance due.

Thank you for taking my call on Wednesday (the 10th). You explained you reacted out of frustration that you had not received a response when you e-mailed about the status of your return, but realized your mistake when you received the return later that afternoon. I'm glad we were able to resolve that issue. As you know, the delay in completing your 2022 tax return was due to delays in receiving the requested information we needed from you to complete the return. Had we received timely responses to our requests, we would have had your return completed much faster. We completed these services and other significant agreements on your behalf and for the fees disclosed and accepted in your service agreement before we started.

Hello Daniel, I attempted to reach out, but our records do not have contact information for a Daniel Boon - I'm certain our records are listed under your mother's name, but without that information I don't know how to reach you. I'm sorry you are frustrated with your experience. What I can clarify based on your description is that the difference is the additional work we did to investigate your mother's IRS account and determine all filing information and requirements. These services are always disclosed in our Client Service Agreement as is your total fee. Since your mother has passed, we would have needed to file Form 56 and Form 2848, have an Attorney contact the IRS, and then also request IRS account transcripts as well as wage and income transcripts. These are all important steps required to ensure all filings are complete and correct - especially when the taxpayer has passed. Without these steps, incorrect tax years and missing information can be filed resulting in more confusion, time, and money. Again, please contact us and ask for the General Manager so we can address your concerns specifically.

Hello - I left you a VM, please return my call. I have reviewed your case - we filed several years of tax returns for you, corrected and refiled returns that you prepared, negotiated a payment plan, submitted a successful penalty abatement, and patiently worked with you when there were delays in receiving the information we needed from you to move your case forward. Please call me so I can understand better what expectations were not met and what we can do to resolve it.

Mr. Auger - Thank you for taking Jen's call - we are glad we were able to clear up the misunderstanding! We agree that had you brought your concerns to us directly, this would have been avoided.

Mrs. Watts - I am disappointed to see your review and the characterization of our service. I've reviewed your case and see that your case team contacted you within 24 hours of becoming a client and made regular (more than 20) follow ups with you to explain what they needed from you to prepare several years of tax returns, follow-up for the information, and explain the results. I understand and sympathize with your frustration about owing, but your returns were reviewed by our senior CPA and the results were explained on more than one occasion. Accepting the results of tax returns is always the hardest part of resolving back taxes since the reality of what is owed is finally known. That's what makes the next step - the resolution step - so important. It is the opportunity to resolve the balances and find a way to make a frustrating situation manageable. We wish we would have been given the opportunity to deliver on that for you and show you how to avoid owing going forward, but we wish you success with your new representative. Please contact us if there is anything we can do to assist you or your representative.
