Free" sunglasses, $12.99 shipping — and a return policy designed so your refund is $0
I got "The Big Units" through a T-Mobile promo (code TMOBILE50) — the sunglasses were "free" and the only charge was $12.99 shipping. I ordered on September 9. They didn't ship it until October 12, and it arrived October 19. The quality is terrible — flimsy, cheap plastic that looks nothing like the premium-looking photos on their website. I emailed them the same day it arrived to ask for a return. Silence. (An earlier shipping question had been answered within 10 minutes, so they do read their email — they just ignore return requests.) Only after a second email, in which I said I would go to the BBB and my credit card company, did "Andrew" reply with two lines and a return address. Here is the real problem: their policy says shipping charges are non-refundable. Since shipping is the ONLY amount I paid, their "refund" for a return is $0.00 — and I would also have to pay the return postage myself. A "free" product with a return policy designed so you can never get a cent back. I filed a BBB complaint and disputed the charge with American Express. Amex refunded my $12.99 the same day. If you got these through the same promo: don't waste time on their return process. Go straight to your credit card company.
