I had two cars done at very different shops. The Gulfport, MS experience was great. The manager and the people I dealt with were helpful and answered my questions in a professional manner. I was so impressed that when I got to where I live and had another car done.
At the Cary shop, I was unimpressed. The owner made me feel small. He did not seem to care about my previous experience. He seemed only to want to get me out of the shop as another piece of meat for feeding the lions. I will not recommend the Cary shop to anyone.

Worst Install I've ever Had, way overpriced!
I had an in-dash receiver, a component set for the doors & dash, rear speakers for the rear deck, amp, subs and a sub controller installed. I specifically said I did not want steering wheel control and they still installed it and charged me full price for this. Even after telling them I never wanted it in the first place! Then they installed the component set that was supposed to go in the doors and tweeters in the dash, in the rear deck and VELCRO'D the tweeters to the rear deck. EVERYTIME the bass hits from the subs, the tweeters rattle. They also installed the rear deck speakers in my front doors! Then they placed the sub controller way by my foot which I could not reach, especially while driving. PLUS I had to bring it back because the steering wheel control that they installed did not work at all, it wasn't even connected so this piece that I was forced to pay for, wasn't even installed correctly. Then I had to bring it back again for another issue! Overall it was a pretty sloppy install, expecially with the tweeters being VELCRO'D to the rear deck and I will never bring my car back there. I was originally quoted around $500 for the complete install. After additional parts, labor and a steering wheel control that I did not want, the price jumped to approximately $700. Very disappointed.

Interior detail inadequate
Took my crew cab pickup in for interior detail, specifically to have the cloth seats steam-extracted (from being typical dirty/soiled and specifically from some kind of food spilled on rear seat that had dried in).
Initially looked OK when I picked it up, however the seats were still damp. When dry a couple day later, noticed that the seats looked like "zebra stripes", where soiled lines were mixed amongst clean lines. Spoke with Dan who acknowledged that sometimes they can't see that until it dries, and offered to re-do it. -No problem, just had to schedule a 2nd visit.
Picked it up after 2nd treatment, front seats looked better (it was dark, so I didn't pay much attention to rear seat). I don't drive this truck daily, so it wasn't until a couple of weeks later, on a bright day, that I noticed the rear seat was not only horribly "zebra striped", but the initial dried food (remnants of apple crisp) was still there! It was apparent that the rear seat had not received a 2nd treatment, just the front.
A couple of things:
- I felt that time had elapsed so it wasn't ideal to call them about it AGAIN after-the-fact and get into it. My frustration probably wouldn't have led to a calm conversation.
- Not exactly convenient to schedule dropping it off a 3rd time for the same original service (I don't live nearby the location).
- The fee wasn't exactly cheap, and I'm not the expert. Why should I have to inspect their work for quality assurance. They should know what clean is.

Pretty good work, pretty horrible customer service.
I visited this place for the first time a few months ago with the intent of getting my windows tinted and a remote start system installed. Talked with the owner about everything to make sure the remote start was compatible and did everything I wanted it to do. I didn't want to have to carry around an extra fob because my main car key/fob was already big enough and I didn't want to add to my key ring. For this reason, I went with a system that had mobile connectivity so that I could start the car from my phone, then just unlock my car with my regular car key/fob when I wanted to get in. It sounded like the owner understood my needs and he knew what he was talking about so I decided on an option based one what he was suggesting.
Made the appointment for the work, gave them around $900 for everything, and everything seemed fine. Brought my car back a couple days later for the appointment to get everything done, dropped off my car and went on with my day.
A few hours later I got a call from Tint World (the owner) and he informed me that the remote start system was installed but that my factory key/fob would no longer lock/unlock the doors when the car was started. I would need to spend an additional ~$100 to get a new fob (which I wanted to avoid) which would allow me to lock/unlock the doors. Otherwise, he said, I'd have to take my phone out every time I had my car started to unlock the doors and get in. It wasn't even necessarily the money (though I wasn't happy about that either). It was that I brought up the fact that I didn't want to add any more bulky things to my keyring (like a new fob) in my original meeting with him and that's why we settled on a system where I could start the car from my phone and then unlock with my factory fob. He said that they couldn't have known until they got the system installed whether the factory fob would work or not. Really? Seems like some more homework could have been done on their side. Now I was forced to pay for a new fob and have yet another thing to carry around everywhere. He made no apologies or attempts at customer service.
I went to pick up my car a few hours later (after the had also installed the window tint), was instructed to wait a few days for the bubbles in the tint to work themselves out and then see if there were any issues.
A few days later, there were still some bubbles in the tint so I called Tint World and the owner told me to come on in and they would take care of it. So, I prepared everything for my 6 month old, and packed up her stroller so that we could go on a walk while they were fixing the tint. Made the 30 minute drive to Tint World, unloaded everything (baby, stroller, diaper bag, etc...), went in to let them know I was here and was told by the owner - okay great, let me take a look at it and then we can get an appointment scheduled to fix it. What?! What do you need to look at? I told you over the phone where the issues were and how big they were. I told him that I thought it was getting fixed now and that's why I drove here. It's a lot of work traveling with a 6 month old and I don't appreciate being deceived and going through all this work and driving 30 minutes just so you can take a glance at something and then make an appointment. He said that he has people already in the store with appointments and he can't work on my car today. I pushed a little more trying to get him to take care of it but he refused and said I needed to come back with an appointment. (I thought I had basically made an appointment when I called him earlier and he said to come on in). So, I packed everything back up and left very unhappy with the was I was treated. Again, no real apologies and no attempt at making the situation better.
After that, I had to go back to Tint World a few more times for issues (2 or 3 issues with the tint and another issue with the remote start where they forgot to install the temperature sensor). Those were all taken care of without a problem. The installers there are all friendly and professional but I was not impressed with how the owner runs things and treats people.

Disappointed
I had been to Tint World in the past and they did an excellent job. That is why I bought another Groupon and returned. Because they did such a good job the first time, I did not inspect my car as carefully as I should have before leaving. Unfortunately, they did not do a thorough job this time. I found several spots that were not cleaned. For example, when I lifted up the armrest in the backseat, there was still remnants of a coffee spill and there was oil or lotion on the passenger's seat that I noticed that morning, but did not clean b/c I knew I was getting the car detailed. It was still there afterwards. The workers were extremely friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the actual work was not good this time.

HID's
I've previously purchased HID's online for much less than what I payed here and they performed much better. Tint World has a display inside that shows what each bulb looks like, but it was very inaccurate. I wanted the color of 12k, but was told by the employee it was much too bright and that 10k was the most he would do. He essentially pushed me into doing 10k and if I remember correctly he tried to tell me they didn't even carry anything above 10k because anything else is just excess light and "a waste". So, I got 10k and when that night came and I turned them on I was very unpleased with the color and strength of the beam. For $130 bulbs that only took 15 minutes to install I expected MUCH better quality. I bought a set for my brothers car for $90 online, they were twice as bright, and have lasted him forever.
