Hi Jillian, It is great to hear how well your daughter and you are doing with our courses. The pace is an important feature, because it allows the material to really sink in before a new concept is introduced. I hope we will get to see more of your daughter as she progresses.

Hi Thi, Did you know that all quizzes are graded automatically? The written assignments are given feedback and graded by the teachers within 24 business hours of submission. Once a written assignment is submitted, students can proceed with any lessons or quizzes, up to the next written assignment. This is so that students can master one concept before moving on to the next. We find that guidance in small, manageable increments leads to better understanding and retention.

I am so sorry to hear that you and your students had anything but a positive experience with Time4Writing. All students were given an extra 12 days for the winter break, and we have options for families to place their course on hold if they are planning to be away for an extended period of time (up to a month). Even though we have accelerated schedules, they do not allow for extra time that might be needed for revisions -- since every student is different. Our teachers grade on the second attempt because we don't want students stuck on one assignment for too long, as this could result in extra cost for extensions; our goal is to move students through each course within an 8 week period. We hope that students can still learn from the teacher feedback even when they receive a low score, and use that feedback to help them do better on the next assignment. The only reason a student may have gotten a 1% is if they did not follow the teacher's instructions, or made no changes at all on the resubmission. Did your daughter use our messaging system to ask the teacher about the 1% grade? I hope that if you ever have any questions about timing, submissions, or teacher feedback that you will contact us and allow us to assist.
