1. They advertise having a 30 day refund. When you ask for it, they refuse to refund, coming up with excuses. Forget about ever getting your money back, trust me - I tried. 2. In a YouTube interview they claim being 6 x faster than Amazon S3. In reality they're 2 times slower. Another lie. 3. The software they use is not their own. It's a $39 script named BeDrive that they installed on some servers of theirs. Trust this company at your own peril. All they care about is your money, so I wouldn't count on your files being safe in their hands. For me this is the worst purchase ever. Companies that break people's trust like this make the internet a worse place for everyone that actually does legit business. 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁, 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲'𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝘆, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀: 1. I did not immediately open up a Paypal claim. I requested a refund first upon which they replied "it's added to the queue to be processed". 24 hours later I still hadn't received my refund, and because I saw many other people on Facebook commenting that ThunderDrive was not refunding them either I opened up a Paypal claim, as it was obvious that ThunderDrive was trying not to refund people. 2. In the YouTube video "ThunderDrive Interview" you can hear their claim of being 6 times faster than Amazon. The reality is that their speed is half of that... ThunderDrive says that's in accurate. I advise you to try out for yourself to find out the truth. Just know you can only do that after you purchase, so good luck getting a refund after that. My test results showed half the speed. 3. About ThunderDrive being the $39 script named BeDrive: ThunderDrive also claims this is inaccurate. They just keep lying... Here's a quote from a detailed Facebook post on this very topic: "Their layout is... 100% same as BeDrive 😱. Look at my image below. 100% the same, even some small things." We debugged the source code and found it same technologies as BeDrive (using Laravel & Angular)."

There are some issues when uploading a bunch of files all together, but nothing that can't be fixed in the future. For the price I find it quite useful. A way to externally manage the storage would be good to avoid errors. WebDav, FTP or API access would be perfect. Update: 2021 Don't even think about it. I thought they would improve, but this is just a money grab, nothing was improved or fixed. And will never be. Nothing works, the files are there sometimes, but can't be downloaded. They didn't even bother to update their bedrive script.

I had seen a promotion on a website telling about a 2TB lifetime cloud solution for 50$ and thought it was a bargain. I'm a professional videographer and I thought it would be a great way to upload my footage directly on the cloud and share a private link with my clients. None of this works. The upload speed is laughable. Makes you wonder what century you're in. Nothing works the way it is supposed to. The support service is terrible and conveniently won't answer any of my questions concerning refund, telling me upload speed will eventually be better (yeah,right) Don't make my mistake, please choose a proper cloud service !

I bought 2TB. BUT. I have a feeling that these new cloud storage services (and Thunder drive is not the only one) are a scam. Launch an under performing service with a Wow deal giving lifetime storage of say 2TB for a one time fee of $70 or so... Big uptake... Especially as it's advertised with a kick back through every tech news site out there... Then it's too slow for anyone to upload their 2TB,so they never have to pay for the storage they're selling... In due course shut down. A good cash result for whoever set it up.

Looks like I fell for a new scam from a news source I trusted: iDrop news. I not only paid for the 2TB lifetime storage but also double the storage of additional 2TB. However, thuderdrive.io does not show the double storage. I also noticed that there is no ios app available that I could use to easily backup my ios devices. I also tried backup using Norton which is not working due to Windows 10 drive mapping issues. There is no wiki or self support online. How can a service like this even be launched and continue to rip off people. This so called service is the latest online scam now evidently endorsed by supposedly reputed sites like iDrop news. Absolutely terrible! Do not fall for this storage backup “service” and throw away your money! So, after this review I got the attention of thunderdrive.io where they promptly pointed out that the 4TB storage area has magically been made available. That’s great. But the problem of a lack of suitable methods to upload data from iOS and Windows remain(?). Last night, I tried to upload a 200MB video clip from my iPhone using the app.thindercloud.io link. It got stuck just afte it started and never finished. I tried this five times and even after I left it alone for a few hours! I cannot upload anything. I don’t know if that’s because it’s a QoS issue or there is really not the amount of storage being claimed. I cannot backup anything from Windows or iOS! What is this storage good for. All the claim about high bandwidth and availability is simply untrue. At this point I want my money back. Is anyone listening?

Bought 2TB and already regretting it. Thunderdrive should have prepared first before launching the lifetime offer. Website is not ready at all. Its says incorrect password when login from the desktop and takes the same password in mobile. While uploading the files if one doesnt get uploaded or get stuck in a queue all the rest are not uploaded. The interface is copied from Google drive. Lot of work needs to be done. I am afraid whether my data is safe or not or whether they will discontinue the website forever.

I love it! It's fast and the interface is very clean. Got a lifetime subscription so will be cancelling my google drive soon. One thing that I have an issue is that it sometimes stops upload with an error - quite annoying when you want to do an overnight upload. Also lack of an app/desktop app is a problem (but they're implementing it soon according to their roadmap). Upd; Feb 2020. Seems like it's on its way out. Keep getting "Whoops, looks like something went wrong." when I try to download files.

Purchased Thunderdrive for the lifetime 2TB storage. It just might possibly take me the rest of my life to upload my data. Heck of a price for a lifetime of storage however now I know why they have to give it away so cheap. Upload times are atrocious! 30 mins to upload a 100MB video over a 100Mbps Fiber connection? Come on. I have yet to be able to successfully upload a batch of files without it failing. I have been trying for two days to upload my collection of photos from my external HD. I'm going to give it a couple more days but I see myself getting a refund and cancelling the service.
