Absolute horror. Do not under any circumstance get involved with this
provider. They are dishonest and disingenuous.
They charged me a fee for service that was paid by my provider. Still waiting for a refund after 5 weeks. Their reason? I didn’t reconfirm my physical address which was confirmed at the time of the refund request. Policy to “reconfirm” street address was sent in an email. If one misses that, you can wait another month for repayment. I requested they expedite, they refused. They also have very high cancelled appntmnt fees. Oppressive policies coming from a company supposedly focused on improving mental health. Run, do not walk away from these guys.

Predatory Behaviors
My daughter was ill the day before her appointment, I called to RESCHEDULE her appointment not even cancel and they tried to charge me $135. The are predatory. I would 100% recommend not choosing them for any kind of services. Terrible customer service.

My therapist is good but I came down…
My therapist is good but I came down with flu like symptoms the day of my appointment. I tried to cancel it and instead of them cancelling, they decided they would charge me. They do not care about your physical health which also affects your mental health

Their rescheduling
Their rescheduling, no-show or cancellation fees are the worst. They charge $135 if you don't tell them within 48hrs and they count every hour. I tried rescheduling with my physiatrist on the 27th, my appointment was on the 29th and they still billed me!!!! I asked them to please waive the fee since I had an emergency echocardiogram last minute pre- surgery testing to do and they declined. I'm furious!!!!! I can't even afford this....

Met with 2 clinicians for ADHD…
Met with 2 clinicians for ADHD treatment. Both diagnosed me with depression, despite nominal PHQ and GAD screening scores. They belittled me, and were highly unprofessional. I wouldn’t refer my worst enemy to them. Total scam, money hungry, sub par treatment.
Response from ThriveworksApr 29, 2026
Hi Misbah, seeking help for ADHD and leaving two appointments feeling belittled is not what care at Thriveworks should look like. We take concerns about clinical care seriously, and we want to understand what went wrong. To protect your privacy and assist you better, please email us directly at [email protected] with your name, phone number, and details of the issue. If I could put zero stars for…
If I could put zero stars for Thriveworks, I would.
They tell you that they accept your insurance, then charge you $200. I spoke to an agent who said that they wouldn’t charge me.
They are trying to card my cc on file.
Ridiculous when you are in need of help, and they treat you like this. Highly unprofessional and not recommended. They lie.
Response from ThriveworksApr 20, 2026
Hi there Shane, we're truly sorry to hear about your experience. Being told your insurance would be accepted and then receiving an unexpected charge, especially after speaking with an agent who said otherwise, is frustrating and confusing, and that's not the experience we want for anyone seeking support. We'd like to look into what happened. For privacy reasons and to best assist you, we kindly ask that you reach out to us directly at [email protected]. Please include your name, phone number, and a brief description of the issue, and we'll be happy to look into your account and figure things out together.

I am filing a formal complaint against my therapist, Jennifer Marvin, for repeated inappropriate, unprofessional, and unethical conduct during multiple therapy sessions.
Over the course of several sessions, Jennifer Marvin engaged in behavior that was not only irrelevant to my care but also deeply inappropriate. She made repeated sexualized comments about her own body, including references to her breasts and genitals, and shared explicit details about her personal sex life. For example, she stated that her wife would not engage in sexual activity with her because of her breasts. These disclosures were unsolicited, unrelated to my treatment, and caused me significant discomfort and distress.
Additionally, Jennifer Marvin made a statement offering to physically harm my boyfriend. I found this extremely alarming and wholly inappropriate for a licensed mental health professional.
She also introduced her personal political views into our sessions, which further contributed to an unprofessional and unsafe therapeutic environment.
This pattern of behavior negatively impacted my mental health and ultimately made me feel unsafe and unable to continue care.
There were also serious issues related to administrative and professional responsibilities. At the outset of treatment, I clearly stated that I needed assistance completing short-term disability paperwork. Jennifer Marvin assured me she would handle this. However, she submitted the paperwork incorrectly, then refused to resend or correct it, and withheld my paperwork for several weeks. My case manager ultimately had to intervene.
Furthermore, I was scheduled for weekly sessions every Friday for an extended period and was charged $135 per session in addition to my insurance, which raises additional concerns about billing practices.
During a recent call, I was also informed that documentation may have been falsified, which is extremely concerning and warrants immediate investigation.
Due to the cumulative impact of these experiences, I am requesting:
A full investigation into Jennifer Marvin’s conduct
A review of all billing and documentation practices
A full refund for services rendered
I believe this conduct represents a serious violation of professional and ethical standards for mental health providers.
