First, if you cancel an appointment, you not only get charged for the session itself, but you get charged an additional $35. I can't believe this practice is even legal. I recently canceled, gave them 24 hours notice, and it was because my father is in intensive care unit. So I emailed someone who commented on another bad review of mine, someone who acted like they cared, they told me to send documentation of my father being in icu, and they still refused to waive the bill. Absolutely disgusting customer service. I can't believe in this day and age a business gets away with this. And don't bother talking to customer service, they will all talk you in circles to try to get a good rating from you. This review is for thriveworks company itself and not my therapist.

I was unable to make a scheduled online appointment so I emailed Thriveworks the day before to cancel. Thriveworks emailed me back, pointed out their cancellation policy (which states that "clients can move or cancel an appointment without penalty as long as they provide a 48-hour notice"), and promptly slapped me with a $135 late cancellation fee. I emailed their customer service people to ask them to waive the charge on this occasion, given that I had, in actual fact, made an effort to cancel my appointment as soon as I knew I would be unable to make it, and also because it was a first offence from a new client. I told them that at the time of cancelling, I was (rightly or wrongly) unaware of the 48 hour cancellation policy. Customer service did email me back. They had no interest in the circumstances that led to me having to cancel my appointment, and adamantly refused to refund me the $135. Were Thriveworks perfectly within their rights to charge me $135? Absolutely. Did Thriveworks show absolutely zero compassion to a new client who made an honest mistake in not cancelling within the 48 hour window prior to his appointment? Hell yeah they did. Thriveworks have now lost a client in me (and possibly future new ones) and bought themselves an unfavorable customer review - all for a lousy 135 bucks. Go figure.

I scheduled an appointment and went to processing insurance and they told me they needed a different Memeber Id than what I had and I had to call my insurance. My insurance said they have no idea what they are talking about and my member Id is my member ID. I called Thriveworks and they claim my insurance is wrong. It took 45 mins to cancel my appointment and they kept putting me on hold. Also, they kept saying my sons name incorrectly even when I corrected them. Rude customer service

Just had first and last appointment with a psychologist. She was totally inept and tried to gaslight me . Horrible .

If I could rate a 0- I would. Therapy is already a tough commitment. I had been so proud of myself for showing up. My therapist, Cecilia never showed up to my scheduled appointment after I wanted for 30+ minutes. I reached out to support probably 6 times now and have not received a response. My therapist then reached out to me maybe 5 days later saying “technical issues, would you like to reschedule”. No apologies. I find this extremely unethical and unprofessional. I would recommend not using thrive. Overall horrible experience.

Oh my gosh, it was such a disaster. My therapist had some serious boundary issues. By the second session, I knew more about his open relationship and him leaving his husband than he knew about me. I found him to be rather insulting, and very unprofessional. I stopped seeing him after three visits. his exit email was also very unprofessional. I’m kind of appalled.

What we need to do is file a class action suit against Thrive Works. Contact your state Attorney General file complaint for predatory business transactions. Their portal is down for maintainence. There is no area to cancel appointments. When you email support it is ignored and they illegally go into your banking regardless. File complaint with Consumer Protection Bureau. Send copies of your calls, email, screenshot of failed portal. Lastly, let your insurance co know their illegal billing practices. Humana referred my husband. Scheisters put it mildly on these extreme lazy & incompetant co.

I’m having the same problem as many others. So far I have been on hold for 1 and half hours waiting to cancel my membership. I did get through to someone and halfway through the process we were disconnected. Unbelievable , based on this situation I would not recommend this company . There isn’t anywhere on the website to cancel so they make you go through this and I can’t delete my credit card . Stay away.
