DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THRIVEWORKS!!!! I’m currently disputing a $210 charge for a cancellation fee. Mind you, I had no appointments scheduled for the date they have listed on the cancellation. They charged a copay but failed to tell clients it was no longer required. Only after I mentioned to my therapist that I was discontinuing sessions because I couldn’t afford it, was I told they shouldn’t be charging it anymore. I truly enjoyed my therapist, but if they’re allowed to be late and cancel sessions on the DAY OF, why are you charging the clients $135 plus fees for the same thing!?!?! Also, at one point they weren’t even sending me my meeting notifications and when in told my therapist and psychiatrist about it, I was told they were having issues after switching to a new system (who knows if that was true). I’m glad I have emails from my therapist canceling my appointments on the same day they were scheduled and I’m also glad I saved every single appointment email. So now I’m stuck fighting the bogus charges with a collection agency. I reached out to my therapist about it and was told the company took over the cancellation fees in April/May and charging customers because therapists weren’t charging….A complete money grab! I’ve postponed appointments and rescheduled when my therapist was having personal issues, nobody sent me $135 for the inconvenience!!! But they happily charged me a bogus fee for a fake cancellation. This company is a scam and a complete disservice and detriment to people who truly need help. While the collection agency does their research, I’m researching my legal options to hold them accountable. If you signed up with them….GET OUT NOW and call Your insurance company for a referral.

Unprofessional, incompetent and disorganized on a level unknown to humans and should never be allowed or tolerated especially in the medical profession and certainly not in the mental health arena. The customer service is a disaster if you can actually get someone on the phone. Scheduling is horrific. However, if you feel you’re out of options please use caution, especially if planning to use for the care of a child as I had.

I told the therapist (Dretha Burris) that I have Complex PTSD. In our 1st session she told me in detail about both of her adopted daughters major traumas. I froze, but had to stop her. Afterwards I have had bad dreams from her re-traumatizing me. She's obviously unprofessional and lacking in education. I reached out several times to Thriveworks to complain. NONE of their posted numbers allow patients to contact anyone directly or to leave messages. I've sent emails and tried contacting via their website - no replies at all.

I have had 2 sessions via Thriveworks. Upon my second session, I told my therapist Alyssa Myatt that I would be losing my job, and it wouldn't make sense to continue therapy. She urged me to set an appointment for the following week and said I should meet with her "if only for 15 minutes". I said I didn't feel comfortable setting another session because I couldn't afford it out of pocket without insurance. I ended up losing my job and now Thriveworks is trying to charge me $135 for the missed appointment I didn't even consent to scheduling. They offered a "payment plan" as a solution, when in reality I owe them nothing. They use predatory tactics to sponge money from vulnerable consumers. I will close my bank account before giving them this $135.

This company is a scam. Be careful they are all about their money, so is the Psychiatrist I tried getting in touch with my psychiatrist as to I had allergic reaction from a medication that another doctor gave me which made me incoherent. I tried to explain to my psychiatrist as to why I missed my appointment, she told me that she would not remove the $135 that I know that I had to contact her 48 hours before the meeting. I tried to inform her I was not able to do anything I had my significant other and my daughter had to take care of me. I wasn’t able to talk. I wasn’t able to use my hands . It was uncontrollable things that I wasn’t able to do. I couldn’t write and I could not talk correctly everything I said was backwards when I finally got better I had to email the psychiatrist and tell her what was going on. There was no number to contact her. I contacted billing as to what all these charges were a total of $235 to charges which they could not explain to me that they charged me for in the $135 that the Psychiatrist charge me for they are a rip off at first Psychiatrist was good in helping me, but she later became angry as to the things I was going through with my other doctor she referred me to have a face-to-face counselor/psychiatrist who was able to provide medication. She still would not let me explain to her what was going on I then contacted the billing department and asked them to assist me later on. I went online and found another psychiatrist. Come to find out that this psychiatrist was not a face-to-face psychiatrist and was only an online psychiatrist with Wright , the representative that I spoke with clearly heard me say I needed a face-to-face psychiatrist who was in the process of also medication. This young man signed me up for medication online which I said that was fine, but I needed to speak with a counselor face-to-face after setting me up with an appointment. The young man informed me that I needed a counselor. I let him know that I did not need a counselor. I was just calling for a psychiatrist who was in the medication field. Also, the young man set me up for 48 hours appointment for the medication. I informed him that I would like to cancel , unfortunately he said it was not within 48 hours and that I was going to be charged $135. This was the same day that we were still talking. I asked to speak with the supervisor this young man put me on hold for almost an hour to let me know that a supervisor would not be available until another 48 hours I asked him to speak with someone who could assess me. I’ve been spoke with a Team Lead, who said that she would wiped all charges to wake up this morning to receive an email that said I had an appointment With the medication psychiatrist, I then called back the billing waiting for an hour and a half to speak to them about charges the billing read the notes that said that they were going to wipe all charges and she stated to me that she would wipe all charges I guess I’ll be waiting to see if they truly wiped all charges. I am still pending the $135 from my first Psychiatrist and the two other charges for something they don’t know.

In the beginning I was very impressed great people to deal with but the end was a train wreck. I clearly told them that my daughter lived in Tennessee and that I live her father in South carolina. We would need to have a licensed therapist for both locations since therapist have to be licensed in the state they are giving advice to. The individual meetings went great for both of us. Then came the train wreck. They put us together with a family therapist who was only licensed in one of the states for the both of us. What a ridiculous bad decision. I clearly told them that we lived in different states and that they would have to have someone licensed in both states. They clearly said no problem and took my money. They further harm the relationship between my daughter and I put things on the back burner and destroyed the whole process. It's not about helping you it's all about understanding that you have to pay no matter what and they need the money and they charge your card. Even after they created the mess they did these weasels sent me a bill for over $300 and when I asked to speak to somebody in management on three separate occasions they did not have the common courtesy to reach out to discuss the situation that they did. Highly recommend you find somebody who really cares about people instead of money these people are horrible.

Don't do this to yourself. Believe these reviews and go anywhere else. Their "therapists" never show up on time for appointments and I swear it's in their employee handbook- they always give the canned response "my other client was having a crisis" and never an apology or attempt at making it on time for the next appointment. If you show up 15 minutes late or more they'll either to tell you to pay out-of-pocket or cancel and pay the appointment cancelation fee because "there's not enough time for a full session to charge it to insurance." However- and of course you'll encounter this because the therapists never show on time- if the therapist shows up 20+ minutes late, they can tell you to move your appointment back an hour and take it, or do a shorten appointment and pay out-of-pocket, or end the session and be charged a cancelation fee--- for THEM being late. Also, they don't listen. I had to switch therapists because of scheduling conflicts and the next therapist I got knew I had sensory processing disorder- it's in my history and I also brought it up- but she sits in the bed with the laptop in her lap and keeps jiggling the screen. But they tell you you HAVE TO have the camera and video turned on for video call sessions. I had to put a box in front of my computer when she did show up. Again, they never show up on time and both ny therapists with Thriveworks did this: when they run late they tell you another client of theirs was having a crisis. It's in their training. I've called to dispute the charge and there's absolutely no customer support. They send me texts and emails constantly saying I have a bill for the canceled appointment fee because THEIR therapist failed to show for 20 minutes. It's going to cause you so much more headache than it's supposed to help. Don't use this company.

Thriveworks is a joke. Their 48 policy is RIDICULOUS, my kids tested positive for RSV, just so happens i called within 24hrs instead of 48. The nice girl who I spoke too simply called "management" and said I needed to provide proof that my kids have RSV. Excuse me, for 1. I shouldn't have to prove that my kids are sick. 2. I have no idea who these people are, and your wanting me to send both my kids health record absolutely not. I'm sorry but my kids come first, and making sure they have the right medicine and etc and care. Life happens, things happen unexpectedly. Trust me thriveworks was least of my worries when I found out that my kids are sick. They can go ahead and shove that 135 up their ass.
