I was very unhappy with my experience at thriveworks. I was a grad student when I approached thriveworks for some help regarding my undiagnosed ADHD symptoms. The provided did not acknowledge my concerns and observations of my symptoms and immediately prescribed me anti-anxiety medication despite me expressing that I did not believe my symptoms were just anxiety. I had one visit and was charged over 300 dollars, and they did not even assist me with my concerns. Do not go here.

DO NOT USE THRIVEWORKS. Every review about them being scam artists is correct. I rarely write reviews but I felt this was needed, as I have lost a lot of money because of them and I hope more people become aware of the dangers, financial and otherwise, of starting "therapy" at this institution. Thriveworks' business model is not an honest or helpful one. As someone who has needed therapy since I was a child, it is incredibly disheartening and frustrating to have run into such a predatory way of gaining and maintaining clientele who may need psychiatric services to prevent them from hurting themselves or others. I have been cancelled on by my therapist 7 times in a month and a half "service". I was very unhappy with this, as I need constant psychological help. I requested to cancel any and all upcoming sessions. I was told that I was going to incur a cancellation fee, but fought back as I had cancelled outside of the 48 hour timeline. I was told that no fee would be incurred and that all my sessions would be cancelled. Not half an hour later I received a confirmation that another therapy session had been made a month out, AND that I had been charged $135 for the cancellation fee of my upcoming appointment - again, I had originally cancelled before the 48 hour limit. I still have not received my money back. They will lie and cheat and steal if you let them, even if you're at a point where you're near a mental breakdown. Do not go anywhere near this business.

Thriveworks is the worst ever. They lied about billing between co-pays and deductibles, billed over a month after the fact despite being told zero bill. Got zero help for my son. We were told there was a scheduling issue and never got a call back or a new therapist. Nobody is running this company. It's just a cash cow and my son is sitting here depressed while I look for help elsewhere because thriveworks let my family down.

Will over charge your card without authorization.

My first intake appointment had to be canceled, and the family member who was also attending was unexpectedly hospitalized for an aggressive pneumonia. I was not able to get ahold of anyone for weeks and when I finally do, I am told to submit discharge papers in order to avoid the $135 late fee. I submit them and spend an hour on hold for them to tell me the documentation is not sufficient. The family member was in the hospital for several months with this infection, and therefore, the date is past the appointment. I am STILL on hold asking for a supervisor and have not been granted one as the system is experiencing "updates". DO NOT make an appointment with Thriveworks.

SCAM ARTISTS these people prey on the weak minded patients by making them sign unreasonable 48 hour no cancellation contracts. If you cancel your appointment for any reason before 48 hours of your appointment they bill you. If you try to call the customer service they are trained to lead you in circles promising to you that they will ask management to forgive the cancellation fee of $135.00 but never do anything. REPORT TO ATTORNEY GENERAL if they do this to you.

I called yesterday evening and made an appointment for the next day…probably around 4 pm, I have 5 kids and didn’t sign the consent forms before 7 so the counselor cancelled the session. I thought it was very unprofessional. I was up at 4 am thinking I still had this appointment, excited to finally receive help, only to realize she already cancelled the appointment. I called needed help asap, hence the next day appointment. I wont use Thriveworks.

The woman doing the initial intake on the phone was very nice and helpful. she set me up with appointments for med management and therapy. The med management appointment was first. It lasted less than 5 minutes and I was told she couldn't help me - not what I needed to hear when I finally got the courage to reach out for help. When it came time for the therapy appointment, I was locked out of the zoom link (yes- they use zoom) for 20 minutes. Once I finally got in, she removed me from the meeting. I called customer service and after an hour on hold, they said it must have been a software glitch and I wouldn't be charged. The therapist emailed me the next day and accused me of being a no-show. I explain what happened still thinking it was a glitch. She left me on read and charged a no-show fee. Called again. After ANOTHER hour on hold, I was told that they would refund my account by the end of the week. It has now been 2 weeks and no refund. I am now disputing the charge with my bank. Honestly, I should have known when I was told that they use ABA to help with unmasking. ABA is the literal opposite of unmasking.
