On February 4th 2026 I had 27,000 dollars taken out of my Bank of America acc and transferred to the thread bank in Tennessee, we have the claim no, the transaction no and the police talked to them, and they say they can't do anything. I have never heard of a bank that does not know where their money goes. if you have had a problem with this bank, lets file a class action lawsuit and see what we can do. my email is 1012keithlgm@gmail.

Here’s a strong Trustpilot-style review…
Here’s a strong Trustpilot-style review that hits hard but keeps it grounded in your experience so it’s safer and more credible.
Do not deposit money here — in my experience, once your money goes in, getting it back becomes a nightmare.
I opened an account with Thread Bank / RELY Financial after seeing it referred through LegalZoom. I regret it completely.
First, there was a fraud issue involving a virtual card I never asked for and did not need. They eventually corrected that and returned the money, but at that point I no longer trusted the account and decided to close it.
That is when the real problem started.
I tried to get my funds out by ACH. The ACH went through, then they reversed it back. I then wrote a check from my own account, payable to myself, sent to my own address, and deposited it into my bank. They then treated that check as fraud. How does a bank claim fraud when the account owner writes a check from their own account and sends it to the address associated with that same account?
Then came the endless verification requests. They asked for a scanned utility bill. I sent one. They said it was not good enough. I sent a clearer one. Then they said they could not reach me by phone. Every time I tried to resolve it, there seemed to be another hoop, another request, another delay, and no real resolution.
After I escalated the issue and filed or began complaints with multiple agencies, including the Tennessee Better Business Bureau and government consumer complaint channels, they suddenly sent a check. I thought the issue was finally resolved. But the check was not for the full amount. It was short by 61 cents. I assumed maybe the account had been closed and they were simply balancing the account.
Then I deposited the check, and it bounced.
So now the big question is this: How do you close a bank account before properly disbursing the funds and balancing the account? How do you issue a check, close the account, and then have that check bounce? How do you issue a check to the account owner at the account owner’s address and then treat the transaction as fraud?
After that, they sent me a separate check for 61 cents, which appears to be the remaining balance they failed to include the first time. But the larger check already bounced, and I still do not have my money.
I am still trying to recover $848.61. This has required complaints, escalations, phone calls, documentation, and an absurd amount of effort just to get my own money back.
In my opinion, this is not how a legitimate banking relationship should work. A bank should not make it this difficult for a customer to close an account and receive their remaining balance. A bank should not issue checks that bounce. A bank should not create repeated obstacles when the customer is simply trying to withdraw their own funds.
Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding Thread Bank / RELY Financial. Do not deposit money here. The process of getting funds out has been unacceptable, frustrating, and still unresolved.

Thread threw us under a B.
Thread just threw Relay's international clients under a bus
Thread Bank is Relay Financial's banking partner. Our company had had a generally good experience with Relay for 4 years when we suddenly received an e-mail from them telling us that our account was non-compliant and giving us 10 days to close our account. We managed to negotiate for Relay to give us a few more weeks, since we had payments scheduled and it replied that we could conclude our operations in an orderly fashion, only to receive another e-mail a few weeks later claiming that our account would be closed by the end of business - i.e. giving us 3 hours' notice. We asked why this was happening and were told that the reason was 'confidential'. Subsequent enquiries revealed that Thread was forcing Relay to close these accounts.
Thread is evidently at liberty to decide who gets an account but the way in which it acted unilaterally and hounded its international clients is truly disgraceful.
I wonder whether there are grounds for a class action against them for breach of contract.
Evidently, this doesn't apply to US-based customers but I hope that people reading this will understand that this is a bank with no sense of professional ethics that will close your account from one day to the next. If you decide to carry on banking with them then don't say you haven't been warned.

THREAD Bank/Bad Review
In 2025, I was involved in a Ponzi scam called Del Mar Energy Inc. I was my bank, Bank of America to send 2 Bank wire transfers to THREAD bank in TN. The amount is 19,100. Del Mar Energy turned out to be a scam. I contacted the local police and FBI. I tried to contact THREAD bank to get my funds back. I was told no. I did contact the CPFB. They said Del Mar Energy Inc. is a large structure of scammers that have been around for awhile. THREAD Bank should have no dealings with them. CPFB said, get a lawyer and other government agencies to get your funds back. That is your money. I have contacted the FDIC in December 2025, decision is pending and have made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, now putting a rating on Trustpilot.

Bad business practice
I had a wire transfer to one of it's client. The wire processed took longer time than I thought. Finally, it went through, but it's client closed the account a day after my wire successfully transferred. I contacted the bank, but the representative asking for valid email account that associated with the bank. I don't have since I am not it's client. The end party asked for the transaction ID of the transferred. I provided it and I got the promise that I would get my refund in September, here is November and I still have not gotten my fund back. My bank kept sending the recall request, but has not gotten any response from Thread bank. I borrowed money from my IRA account and was going to put money back to my IRA by the end of September. But here I am, in November, do not know when my fund would be return to my bank. I will have a consequences of paying taxes and penalty from early withdraw of IRA account. I lost 45,000 plus tax and penalty.
