Slow down, focus on quality and relationships
We are a home cleaning company in the US. The owner of Marketing Wizardz, Ali (goes by Adam) found our Angi profile and cold called. They said they would help with discoverability on Google for $300/month, no contract. I paid for one month. My point of contact was an Account Manager also named Ali (goes by Jonathan). During that time, they did some backlinking (adding our business name, phone number, and address to various online directories) and fleshed out the Google Business page (wrote a business description, created a Product listing). Some of the info was incorrect. For example, the Product listing included cloths laundering (which we don't offer) and a picture of a child cleaning a house (not the best call from their creative team). My main complaint would be that it felt very "churn and burn" - high volume, low relationship. In addition, they made a number of choices that made them feel like a scam, even though they're not. This includes the "Z" in Marketing Wizardz (why?) and using false "American" names (Adam, Jonathan). Ali, if someone is unwilling to work with you because of your name, you do not want them as your Client. All in all, the Marketing Wizardz experience was OK. They did what they said they were going to do and the quality was acceptable. They have the makings of a good company - just need to focus on quality and relationships.
