Great Prop Firm
Great Prop Firm, I love how they integrated a journal into their platform so I can do everything in one place.

As a trader, I must highlight major ambiguities in The Futures Desk’s news trading policy that impact trading decisions. Their rule states: "One minute before/after news events, you are restricted to 5 micros with reasonable stops." However, this policy lacks essential details, creating unnecessary uncertainty: Which News Events Are Restricted? The firm does not clarify whether restrictions apply to all events or just high-impact ones (CPI, NFP, FOMC). Their economic calendar is available, yet fails to specify which events trigger restrictions. Relevance to Traded Instruments If I trade NQ (NASDAQ futures), does an oil inventory report still limit me to 5 micros? The policy makes no distinction between relevant and unrelated news events, forcing traders to adjust positions unnecessarily. Pre-Existing Positions !! The rules don’t state whether the 5-micro restriction applies only to new entries or also to positions already open before the news window. This is a critical gap in clarity. Recommendation: Publish a Clear "News Trading Handbook" To improve transparency and fairness, The Futures Desk should release a handbook covering: ✅ A precise list of restricted news events by impact level ✅ Clarification on which news affects specific asset classes (e.g., NQ = Fed speeches, tech earnings) ✅ Examples of acceptable vs. restricted trades Bottom Line: If this firm truly values "long-term relationships" with traders, it must provide clear, actionable rules instead of leaving traders to interpret vague policies. Until then, this uncertainty makes risk management unnecessarily difficult.

Hey, thank you so much for your feedback! We places traders in LIVE brokerage accounts, meaning we must adhere to the brokerage’s rules, including any temporary changes they make to margin requirements during high-risk news events. These adjustments are made at the brokerage’s discretion, and we have no control over them. While we do our best to provide guidance, margin restrictions during news events are ultimately determined by the brokerage itself. This means that in some cases, restrictions may apply to all high-impact news events, and in others, they may depend on the actual instrument or the specific brokerage’s risk assessment at the time. That said, we appreciate your suggestions regarding greater transparency. We are always working to improve our trader experience and will take your recommendations into account as we refine our policies and communications. If you have any specific questions about upcoming news restrictions, feel free to reach out to our support team, and we’ll assist you as best as we can.

I really like the service. The $400 stop loss is great, and I love the dashboard. Keeping track of your wins/losses, # of trades, win percentage, etc helps to keep you from getting out of control. I love that the service is motivating me to try and trade smaller size more wisely with a static account that I can grow. So the service is great, I love it! The lack of a mobile app is why I gave it 4 stars. The PC app is pretty good. The more I get used to it the more I like it. The mobile app is really the only thing missing. Everything else about the future desk has been great.
