TerminixReviews of terminix.com

Negative stars. The worst. A total scam. They deceive the elderly about the severity of the problem, overcharge them for services they don’t even provide, then refuse to cancel service until their traps are collected, but they won’t come collect them. The absolute worst. I can’t believe they’re allowed to continue to do business.

I went with Terminix for bat eviction/exclusion based in part on the many positive Google reviews, and they're availability when the time for bat eviction was ending in Illinois. Huge mistake. Terminix had no availability until after the eviction window ended. So the inspector grabbed the bat from his roosting place in my attic, saying he would release him in Beardstown (both actions are potentially illegal) and that they would come back the next week to seal the gaps and make sure the bat was gone and couldn't come back. Four technicians were on my property for less than 2 hours, and I was charged over $3,000. They did not fill the holes in the attic until the end of the job when I asked a tech to go up there with me. I was dismayed to discover that most of the holes were plainly visible! They hadn't been touched at all. The technician said they were "hard to get to" but then filled some, and said "We'll have to come back for the rest." Very slapdash and unprofessional. (The guy even bemoaned the fact that they only make $18 an hour!) They never followed up and the bat returned immediately. I asked for a full refund on the basis of the shoddy work. The service manager said that the inspector was wrong to have grabbed the bat because they are protected by law and that he didn't get a lift to do a proper job. He said that the inspector would be reprimanded. I insisted on a full refund, but the branch manager refused because "there were workers at my house and they did work." I've never before written a demand letter for poor service, or posted a review like this online, so that gives you some sense of how bad this company is.

Filled out a web form for someone to come out for gnats. They called me back right away to schedule an appointment for the next day, 10-Noon. Shortly after, I received a text from “Charlie” confirming our appointment. By 12:10 the next day, no one came to our house, so I texted “Charlie” that they no longer needed to come. They replied “Thanks”.

$1500 and I didn't even have termites to begin with. CUT AND PASTED FROM THIER WEBSITE CHAT ME-Cancel my service. -Hello, I'm sorry to hear that ... My name is Brandy ... Could you please verify your full name...? -Hi, William! Do you mind me asking why ... cancel services...? ME -I got this service because I found a soft spot in my floors and was worried it might be termites. However, I was under the house this weekend and found that I never had termites only a bit of dry rot. Your inspector should have confirmed that in the first place. -I understand. I am very sorry for that. This is a preventative and curative termite system. (To save words, I'm redacting the sales pitch to renew at a lower rate next year). ME -That first sentence you just typed is a workaround for your inspector scamming me. However, I'm too busy for small claims court, so continue the service until the end of the month but then do not renew it. -You will need to contact us after your July 26 payment to cancel, as we do not do pre cancels. I have reversed your cancellation request at this time, to keep from charging you an ETF! If you do receive a survey via text within the next 2 business days about the cancellation request, please disregard since it has been reversed. Is there anything else I can assist you with? ME -I'm saving this message and if you charge me again after the 26th, we will go to court. I am not giving you permission to stonewall me and renew my contract. -Sir, I'm advising you of our policies and in order to NOT be charged after the 26th, you will need to contact us again. If you do not contact us again, you WILL continue to get charged. ME-I'm advising you of my policy and you better not charge me after the 26th. -Well, then you do need to call us back after the 26th! I won't continue to argue. Have a wonderful week! ME-Let me speak to your supervisor 2:39 PM The conversation has ended. I WAS DISCONNECTED.

I bought tick protection where they will come out and spray and if problems they will come out again. The first man took a lot of time to spray but we were still plaged with ticks. The second guy "said" he sprayed the entire 2 acres in less than 2 minutes. Several days later, while working in the front yard, I found three ticks attached to me and a number more in the coming day. All these were near our house. So I called Terminix. The first lady who answered was very nice and when I asked to speak to a supervisor of our service area office she said she left a message with that area manager - no one called. The second time I called I asked for a supervisor who was above our area office and asked for another spraying. We stayed home on the day that they were suppose to spray but no one came and no one called to say the spraying had been canceled and no supervisor called from any office as I had asked. So after not hearing anything from Terminix for several weeks I again called to find out when the next spraying was. This lady did have a date but Terminix didn't inform me. Very calmly and being nice I again asked to speak to a supervisor. This time the lady asked me why and in a calm voice I went over my recent history with this company - she hung up on me. The service in so very many ways is extremely poor and I very much question if the product works.

I entered into a contract because the property we purchased has termites. They came one time and sprayed. The contractors working on the home noticed live activity, so we contacted them to come spray. Nothing. No return call. Could not get a hold of them. Finally had to call a local company that came out and sprayed, getting rid of the problem. After I wrote a review, Terminix decided to call me and said they could come out. I said I had to contact someone else - they said well, we could pay $750 to be out of the $5800 contract we are in. They do not guarantee their work, obviously, because we had live activity and had to contact someone else to fix their incompetence. They refuse to refund and will instead charge you. Do not waste your money - go with a reputable company that backs their work. We've left multiple messages with our "sales rep" but it has all been a waste of our time and money. Learn from our mistake and do not use them.

That's a NEGATIVE 1. Called to see if the removed bats, got a yes. Scheduled for the next day. NO SHOW. Had to bear an evening of catching crawling bats, throwing them outside. Called them they said "someone" canceled my appointment. 🤬 No one available for weeeekkks. Called Orkin, they were at my door in 1 hr. Signed a contract for that, and gots bug spray for brown recluse nest.

I closed my parents terminix account when they passed away, and their house was sold. I had to have the funeral home email terminix a death certificate, for proof that I represented them in terminating service. To add insult to injury, they continue to send junk mail, addressed to my deceased father using my home address, to resume service. Simply calling Terminix to remove the name and address is not an option. This is a repeat offense. As an aside, when I hired Terminix, in a different state, with a different mailing address, the techs didn’t show up for the 2 scheduled appointments. They don’t deserve the one star required to leave this review.
