If you are on medicare and unlucky enough to live in an area where the medical groups and independent physician associations are not accepting new primary care patients (PCP) on medicare, Telyrx is your only option to obtain many generic drugs. The reason for this is the PCP manages prescriptions for chronic conditions (e.g. hypertension). Specialists you may have access to cannot write the prescription unless it falls within their practice, which for hypertension would be a cardiologist. The catch is that access to a cardiologist requires referral from a PCP or an emergency room. This situation is not universal but does exist in many high population California counties. As a customer of Telrx I can attest that they are a professional and highly efficient company that is providing a generic drug at a cost equivalent to my part D drug plan before I satisfy the plan deductible.
