MSTeams is simply NOT a replacement for Skype. It is the most infuriating piece of garbage I have ever used.
Will MS ever fix it? Don't hold your breath!

I used Skype from the beginning and until Microsoft got hold of it it was excellent. Now being pushed on to the ridiculously named "Teams" which we have to use at work has really made me not want to use it at all. There are constant problems and at the moment it is showing a new message (chat!!!!) when there isn't one. Non-intuitive and user non-friendly...they even got rid of contacts and have too many formats (I am using Personal).

Crédit Skype inutilisable dans Teams / Skype credit unusable in Teams
🇫🇷 Message en français :
Message in English below.

🇬🇧 English version:
I have over €27 of Skype credit accumulated through several Google Play purchases.
Since Skype was integrated into Microsoft Teams, this credit has become unusable:
- Contact names were lost, only numbers were imported.
- Each time I rename a contact, the changes are erased at logout — even with “stay signed in” enabled.
- Skype-to-Phone calls do not work inside Teams.
- There is no way to reach Microsoft support — only FAQs and community redirection.
- I’ve received no answer to my support messages for over a month.
- Google Play refunds are refused due to the age and distribution of the purchases.
Microsoft removed a paid service without providing a real alternative or compensation.
I expect a proper answer and real support — or a refund. This is not acceptable.

Garbage developed by monkeys.
Garbage developed by monkeys.
Zoom, Webex, TeamViever, you would think they could just copy any of these to get a proper product. Instead, you need at least a triple monitor station to be able to use this awful piece of junk - One display just to open the invite, which will open a sepearate window just to display:
"We're sorry - We've run into an issue.
Retry"
You need to keep this page opened, or the meeting ends.
So on your second screen, you can have the meeting. With a default layout preventing you from adjusting the scale, so you cannot see anything if your contact has an high resolution display. Of course, the chat panel and participant panels are on the right, and cant be moved at the top or bottom, causing the actual screen sharing to be even smaller, completely unusable if you do not have a 4k display.
But do not worry, just use the split option to have separate panels, then you can move the chat and participant window on your third display and maybe then you can start having a normal meeting like you would with Zoom or Webex.
Now if you need to actually consult documentation while on a session, what is next, two more displays? As my Mac supports only 3 displays, maybe I need also a second computer?
You spend half the time troubleshooting the interface during meetings. Panels go to the background, windows are all over the place and you never find the simple functions you need.
The chat shortcut ctrl+a ctrl+c ctrl+v are still not working on a Mac despite the numerous feedbacks sent (They can't be bothered to do key mapping or test their app on a Mac I guess...)
So all and all, Monkey software developed by monkeys, on the cheap, and sold to the corporate world for millions. What a complete scam this is.
