Total scam! I paid my fees only to pay more for the interest built while waiting on no result from TRA. They were quick until they took the fees. Took over five months before they came back and said IRS rejected my case and it seems like there not much they can do and took another two months after they said they will get back to me after reviewing for alternative. I received collections notice from IRS and they still have not responded yet.
Stay away.

SCAM COMPANY!!
SCAM COMPANY!!! THINK WOLF ON WALLSTREET!!! THEY WORK ON COMIMISION!!! EVERYTHING THEY OFFER YOU CAN DO FOR FREE THROUGHT THE IRS WEBSITE!!!!
Do not waste your time and money. They will not lower your taxes and will continue to finaically bleed you dry. Their customer service is a joke. Calls go unanswered, emails are ignored, and getting a response can take days. I constantly felt like I was chasing them for answers while they were passing me off from person to person. They also do not respect the DO NOT CALL list. All good reviews of this company are clearly FAKE. They pay for good advertisement so they can continue the scam.
I have also since found out this company has gone by several names including Tax Relief Solutions, Debt Relieve Advocates, Tax Processing Solutions, Tax Relieve Accountants, TR Accountants Inc, TR Advocates. I am also sure they own LendingUSA and LendingPoint. Seems like a big financial scam!
This is how they get most people:
-Over promise results that they cannot produce. (We will wipe out your debt etc etc) Lie about your tax situation to get you to sign up and do nothing after that.
-Say everything is refundable when that is actually untrue. -Once signed up, they will disappear and ghost you
-You will spend more time frustrated that you cannot get any answer out of them -They will try to convince you to "stay" by saying they will "expedite your case"....lies. They will use this against you to say they have done "work".
-When you ask for a refund they will tell you you are not eligible or that they must minus the "work they have done" which is really just lies.
I'm ashamed the government has let them stay in business!

Tax Relief Advocates Ripoff
Entered into A Tax resolution agreement on or about 4-9-26 as I was under duress with medical bills. The initial rep (they are never the same) said they could settle the debt between 700-1,500. They took almost six months (9-24-26) to tell me I owed the full tax debt and they would arrange a payment plan with th e IRS. They scammed me for 3K and I want a full refund or some type of restitution. I'm a senior and a vet and trusted them. They are unethical scammers.

I would give them a zero
I would give them a zero, but it isn't possible. They tell you for $595. that they can take care of your tax problems, and all they do is get a copy of your tax records, and don't even know how to read them correctly. Which you can get them for free, and probably understand them better than they can. The worst part, is then they want $2600. to take care of the problem. Believe me when I say, they can't read the problem correctly, so how can they take care of the problem. They should be put out of business, taking peoples money, for something you can do yourself. Don't believe the adds
They are crooks. If you are foolish enough to give them money, make sure you get your money back within 30 days.

I Contacted Tax Relief Advocates to…
I Contacted Tax Relief Advocates to help me resolve past due taxes.I gave them a temporary power of attorney so they could obtain my tax info from the IRS.After they recieved my tax info from the IRS they informed me that the amount I owed including interest was $54,802.76 and $14,717.47,After feeling like something was off with the amounts they gave me I contacted the IRS myself.Upon recieving transcripts of my taxes from the IRS i found out that I only owed a little under $22,000.I've contacted Tax Relief Advoctes and cancelled any further action from them on my behalf and requested a refund because no work on my behalf has been done in resolving my tax debt.I was told that i would not recieve a refund unless I provided them with a copy of the transcripts that the IRS sent me.They already have my tax info that they recieved through the temporary power of attorney.I want a refund of $15,185 which is the amount that was paid to them.

Called them to see if they can work…
Called them to see if they can work with the IRS to reduce the amount of taxes I owed. Julian was who I spoke with. He told me once I signed with them, that the process would maybe take 4-5 days. Paid the retainer fee, signed the documents needed, and haven't received a single email, voicemail, or text back since I paid retainer fee and its been 2 weeks now. Ive called into their office and have spoke with 2 different people stating they were going to pass this onto their manager to escalate the situation of no communication. Total scam

I WAS SCAMMED
On March 19, 2026, a representative named Drake Schmidt with Tax Relief Advocates contacted me, Janet Russo, via telephone and stated TRA could provide resolution for tax debt over $10,000. Mr. Schmidt's phone number is 9490505-5480. Mr. Schmidt took payment from my VISA debit card in the amount of $895.00 and had me sign all forms of documentation. Mr. Schmidt also stated he would contact my husband later that evening to get all the information that was needed to help complete the process. That contact never occurred. Also, on March 19, 2026, I received an email from Brenda Sourcing at TRA with information on where I should send any letters from the IRS. Also, Mr. Schmidt told me not to file my tax returns, not to pay the IRS any money, and that TRA would be filing my returns. I have received ZERO communication since March 19, 2026. I have tried to send documents and letters to the address they provided and the emails are being sent back to me as undelivered. I have emailed and called Mr. Schmidt with concerns that I have had no communication with TRA. He continues to state someone will follow up with me. The last call I had with Mr. Schmidt was on April 17, 2026. I told him I did not trust this process and wanted a refund. He stated the three-day window after signing contract has passed. I stated how would I know within three days if he had taken money from me and not provided anything in return? I told Mr. Schmidt on April 17, 2026, I wanted a refund. Mr. Schmidt told me no one from management was working that day and someone would follow up with me. I still have not received any communication from TRA. I want a full refund. I should ask for damages because I trusted Mr. Schmidt and did not file my tax return. They should pay the penalties also.

Disapointed!
I worked with Tax Relief Advocates for about a year, during which I was repeatedly told they were working to reduce my 2024 tax liability. Throughout that time, I made monthly payments and regularly called for updates, but no one ever returned my calls or provided meaningful information about the status of my case.
The company’s advertising creates high expectations, but the actual service and follow‑through were far below what was promised. After months of silence and no visible progress, I requested a refund. Out of the $2,345 I paid toward this program, they refunded only $1,000.
Today, the IRS is still pursuing me for the full balance of $2,000 plus penalties. My initial debt increased due to interest, and Tax Relief Advocates still kept $845 on top of their $500 non‑refundable fee. In total, they kept $1,345 despite providing no meaningful help.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Tax Relief Advocates to anyone seeking reliable or responsive tax resolution services.
