Tandem T Slim with Libre 2 are worthless
I have been a type 1 diabetic for 30 years. I have been on insulin pumps since 2000. I have used Disetronic, , Minimed, Omnipod and now Tandem T Slim X2. I have been using the T Slim for almost a month paired with Freeztyle Libre 2 Plus. This has been a disaster from the start. I began with an educator who taught me how to set up the pump. She told me that this pump will now pair with Freestyle Libre 3 Plus. That was wrong. I got my prescription and then figured out it wouldn’t work. Fortunately, CVS allowed me to exchange for a new prescription of Libre 2 Plus but a pain anyway. I had 4 infusion sets that have crimped immediately upon insertion. As of 9PM last night , my glucose remained in the upper 300s. This morning, I was able to get it down to normal (126) by taking a huge, abnormal bolus and exercising. I changed infusion sets and insulin and reinserted. It is in a place on my stomach that I haven’t used in years. My glucose continues to climb above 200 now. To make matters worse, the CGM is useless. It keeps saying that the sensor is out of range even though they are inches apart and facing each other with no obstruction. I think this is by far the most useless pump I’ve ever used. If you are planning to get one of these, look on the internet at other reviews. I’d be better off on shots.
