The pump itself controls my levels quite well and seems quite intuitive. Unfortunately, because I’m on quite a lot of insulin I run out of cannulas and infusion sets before they think I ‘should’ and they’ve suddenly decided I’m not allowed any more. The member of staff I spoke to couldn’t care less and was dismissive and unhelpful. Which is a shame, because they were great when my pump broke recently, and sorted it really quickly.

TSlim x2 brand new OOTB displayed a malfunction code 0x20C9. Initial CSR was working from home and she was shuffling papers and engaging with either children or pets - that was unprofessional and insulting. I'm a customer with a failed brand new 5000.00 insulin pump that supplies my body with insulin, not someone calling to set the date and time. I called back and spoke to Brian who got the replacement pump sent immediately. When I called to get this (the failed from the box) replacement pump ordered the CSR was very slow and unconcerned to the point she had to be told to initiate the replacement process and was acting in a passive agressive/sarcastic manner.

I find the Tandem T-slim X2 pump itself to be very good despite the cumbersome steps to refilling it with insulin, but a good pump is useless if there aren't good infusion sets to go with it. I have 26 years of experience with using an insulin pump with infusion sets. I have never been more frustrated with it than I have been for the past year since switching to Tandem. I have tried nearly every infusion set they have and none of them work as well as the Medtronic infusion sets. I understand the infusion sets are primarily made by the same company, but either it is a poorer design or poorer quality materials. I'm lucky if I get more than 24 hours of good delivery from a Tandem infusion set before it starts leaking, and that is if I divide large insulin boluses into a couple of smaller boluses because anything more than about 5 units at one time is more likely to leak. (I got the idea of dividing boluses from a social media group where other Tandem users were having the same issue.) This also means having to take insulin at least a half hour before eating so I have time to do more than one bolus and it has time to absorb. If my insurance company would allow me to, I'd go back to Medtronic immediately just for the superior infusion sets that helped me maintain more stable blood sugar control. Both Tandem and Medtronic have pros and cons, but again, a pump is useless without effective infusion sets and Medtronic's were much better. If you take very little insulin such as no more than about 4 or 5 units of bolus at a time, are on a low steady basal rate, and can afford to change the infusion set every 48 hours, you'll probably do fine with Tandem T-slim. Otherwise, the infusion sets will likely be an issue.

I constantly have issues with my pump and they won’t replace it (it’s 3 months old!) and twice tonight my cartridge only filled to 50 units and not even with the plus sign. Two days ago I filled with 250 units. No plus sign again and the meter read 150 units for two days. No plus sign. The first time I changed the cartridge tonight it wouldn’t even slide in/click into the pump. This design is terrible and so is the injection of the insulin into the cartridge! IM GOING BACK TO MEDTRONIC! 28 years on that pump and customer service and tech were TERRIFIC! I’ve been on hold waiting for tandem tech for 30 mins now and my pump isn’t working and my sugar is climbing!! This is ABSURD

I am so sick of having to waste insulin for my pump to recognize there’s a new cartridge. Please change this feature!!! I do not always need to spit out 10 units of insulin to the trash every time I change my cartridge. Sometimes my cartridge runs out before 3 days. Sometimes I am running high and use it up way before then. Sometimes I have to replace the infusion but not the tubing because it gets knocked off my body. Who are you to decide what happens to my insulin and the money I paid to stay alive? I had a Medtronic pump before and if they had a pump with a closed system and slim profile I swear I would have never switched to tandem. Unbelievable. I also want to mention that less than a year into owning this pump after 5 years with Medtronic, I had to get a replacement sent out. What in the world are you guys doing? From what I see all you are doing is exploiting diabetic peoples desire to live a normal healthy life by flashing new tech around as if it is actually worth it. Oh and so much for their extended infusion sets. I don’t get a single day longer the regular, more affordable, Medtronic sets. I feel lied and betrayed and if I weren’t stuck in this money pit, I’d get out and have another company manage the future of my existence.

I developed an allergy to the t-steel cannula but no one could figure that so I had to wait 3 days to speak to a nurse to figure that out and another week to get the sample new infusion set to try it out. If they do not know something they just refer you to your endocrinologist who usually does not know. Very frustrating!

I have the pump for 1 year. This is not a good pump. My previous pump AcuCheck was working perfect but supply infusions are not available to US. Anyway with this new insulin pump my A1C increase significant from 4.8 to 5.9. The infusion set is not very efficient. Normally I need about 30 units per day but with this pump needs about double the insulin delivery. In addition the insulin delivery acts very slowly. If you High in sugar will take very long to finally be back in normal ranges. I am not using carbs for insulin calculation. Using this Tandem pump you will not be able to sleep anymore. I turn all the warnings to vibration, but still very annoying. Always is non stop beeping. From low power, low insulin, infusion side changes, high, lows, sometime pump thinks you may get low or high generating alerts. The phone app can't reach the cloud. If you set it works, but when travel to different WIFI or network will need to put your E-mail and password again. For the pump interface I will give 1 Star only. To program a bolus you need to go in 6 steps just to go there to input a number. Pump touch screen is not capacitive sensitive, so you actually need to press on the screen to work. If you miss 3 times the pump screen locks up and need to start again. Only good thing about the pump is stopping insulin delivery if you are getting low in sugar. I do not recommend this pump.

Customer service IS bad as everyone on here is saying. Almost none of them actually understand diabetes and I believe are troubleshooting from a script. My cgm and pump are no longer "talking" to each other and I've called tech support three times in the last 30 days. They will tell me, "that's a Dexcom issue," and transfer me to Dexcom. Then Dexcom will listen to my issue and say, "that's a pump problem," and transfer me back to Tandem. Then Tandem will say, "It IS a Dexcom issue," and transfer me BACK to Dexcom. The last two times, the young men actually LAUGHED at me. I've had diabetes for 45 years and worn a pump for 20 of those years -- 10 years with Medtronic and now just short of 20 years with Tandem so I'm not a novice and I'm not an idiot. I know how to actually USE my pump, but I can't make the CGM and pump TALK to each other. I am at that point where I am going to switch back to Minimed. Wish me luck
