I have a 2025 Ram Promaster 3500 van with 35,169 miles on it. I paid for the ‘Ultimate oil change’ and was also pressured into getting my coolant flushed. For the coolant flush, I said my engine doesn’t overheat and he said ‘it doesn’t until it does’. And then he turned the computer screen towards me and said this is your service record and the car company can see that you aren’t servicing your vehicle and that can affect your warranty. He said I have a lot of miles on it and it needs to be done. So I agreed to have it done for another $150. I asked if there was a discount for get that and the oil change and he said he could give me 25% off. That is not the discount I received. Additionally, they are supposed to do a few service things like topping off your fluids and checking the air in your tires. They only poured about a half an inch of washer fluid in so it appeared to be filled. I only noticed because I was jumping a car later that day and saw the level. I have a picture. It was nearly empty before so I knew they barely put anything in. They never checked the tire pressure or anything else. The oil change line item indicates individual bottles were used when they weren’t. They used oil from a big vat with minimal labeling showing the weight. Based on my experience here and what I later found out, I don’t believe they are using the ‘upgraded’ oil they claim to be. NOTICE: My major complaint is that I mentioned the service I had done to someone that is familiar with cars and they asked if Take 5 put the correct coolant back in or just the regular kind. Ram puts a specific coolant (OAT) in at the factory and it doesn’t need to be flushed for 10 yrs or 100k miles. I look at the invoice and see the coolant used. I looked it up and it is not the correct coolant. It is light duty (AFC) coolant; the regular cheap kind. Upon further reading, is see that mixing these 2 coolants can cause it to gel in the cooling system and if you have issues and the shop sees the regular coolant in there, they can void your warranty. *Remember this when they are ‘topping off your fluids!!! So not only are they scaring people into unnecessary services, and overcharging them, they are potentially causing warranty voiding damage to vehicles. I had to go to Ram and get the coolant chemically flushed out of my practically new van and have the correct one put back in. This cost $237. Additionally, on the Take 5 invoice they charge you a service fee that is stated so far down on the sign, in tiny letters, that you can’t actually see it from the car you are sitting in. (the pic provided is from outside the vehicle when I was there trying to file a complaint) And they charged for ‘extra oil needed’ which if you look it up, they charge every car since barely any cars only take 5 qts of oil with an oil change anymore. This was not stated to me at all. Even though the computer tells them how much oil to put in, they say nothing until you see it on the bill. My bill was $279.21 with the ‘discount’ and I wasn’t even provided half the services stated. I’m sure this is every one of these Take 5 oil change places because they seemed immuned to my concerns and complaints. I did call the ‘claims dept’ and start a claim but based on other business board reviews, I will be shocked if they actually contact me. Still no contact since Monday 8/17/26. Regardless, people’s vehicles need to be protected even if there’s nothing to be done about the other shady practices.

Take 5 years of your life! This experience took years off my life. I had to bring my vehicle back six different times because they kept insisting the problem was a cracked oil pan. Every visit, I was told the same thing, but the real issue was that the drain plug had been left loose after service. I've worked on cars my entire life, and I've never seen this level of incompetence. A loose drain plug is a basic mistake that should never happen, let alone be missed repeatedly. It took weeks to finally get the issue resolved, after countless wasted trips, time, and stress. I cannot recommend this shop. If you value honest diagnostics and competent workmanship, I would look elsewhere. You can see the response text. They stopped replying.

I went to the location in Spring Hill, Florida. Miserable experience. Horrible service. So unprofessional I can see why this location is on the verge of being closed. Right after I left the facility the " Low Washer Fluid " light came on in my car. I took my car right back and realized they never filled the fluid. Then when they did fill it, they used a garden hose. Additionally, they never cleaned the windows, Checked the wiper blades or air in the tires. All these services they advertised completing. BUYER BEWARE..... Never go to this company

Take 5, Stratford, Ct / Barnum Ave Location; After my daughter’s oil change, her car started leaking oil. We brought it back, and within five minutes we were told everything had been checked, everything was fine, and the car was safe to drive. Unfortunately, because the car wasn’t parked in one place for very long, we had no idea it was still leaking. It wasn’t until the car sat in our driveway for three days that we discovered it was continuing to leak oil. By then, she had already driven the vehicle all the way from Connecticut to North Carolina with the leak, leaving our brand-new driveway covered in large oil stains. We took the car to our local Take 5 in North Carolina, where they found the problem almost immediately: the Connecticut location had failed to install the gasket on the drain plug during the oil change. Mistakes happen, but what is unacceptable is that we recognized there was a problem, brought the car back, and were reassured that everything was fine after only a few minutes. That reassurance led to a 600+ mile drive with an active oil leak. This could have caused catastrophic engine damage, and instead it left us with a damaged brand-new driveway. This wasn’t just an honest mistake—it was a failure to properly diagnose and correct a problem they created after we specifically returned because the car was leaking oil. Extremely disappointing service and a preventable situation that never should have happened. To make matters worse, it has now been three weeks since I first reported this issue, and despite being told that someone from franchise ownership would contact me, I still have not received any response. It’s disappointing that a franchise location can seemingly avoid being held to the same standards and accountability customers expect from the Take 5 brand. When customers choose Take 5, they trust the name—not the ownership structure—and that trust should come with accountability. I do want to add that I have had nothing but positive experiences with the Take 5 location's I have use in North Carolina.

These guys at Take 5 North Richland Hills charged my wife 150.00 for 6.75 liters of coolant. Nothing short of highway robbery and I can only assume they just figured it is a women she wont know the difference. I will not use them again and I will tell my wife not to go back there. Gregg *** from Google *** For 6.75 liters of coolant in Texas (which is just under 2 gallons), you can expect to pay an average of $15 to $35 depending on the brand and whether you buy concentrated or pre-mixed 50/50 formulas.

LOST CUSTOMER, I was extremely disappointed with my experience. The price was far too high for what amounted to nothing more than an oil change. I travel all over the country for work, and I stopped here because I was short on time. I’m all for capitalism, but I won’t support what feels like excessive pricing for minimal service. As a result, you’ve lost a customer. Beyond changing the oil, nothing else appeared to be done. My fluids weren’t checked or topped off, the windshield washer fluid was still half empty, and my tire pressures weren’t checked. These are basic items I expect during a premium oil service. What concerned me most was the technician didn’t even know where the oil filter was located. That doesn’t inspire confidence in the quality of the work. If this was supposed to be the “premium” service, I’d hate to see what the basic package includes. Based on this experience, I’d recommend going to a dealership or a qualified service center if you want trained technicians and a thorough inspection. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
