In February 2026, I purchased a pre-owned Rolex Sea-Dweller (circa 2019) complete with its original box and papers. The watch appeared to be in near-mint condition, and I remain very pleased with the purchase.
After owning it for a few months, I noticed that at the beginning of each month, the watch had lost 3–5 minutes when I went to set the date.
While all automatic watches are subject to minor time variations over extended periods, modern Rolex watches carry the “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” designation. They are individually tested to an average daily rate of -2 /+2 seconds per day, which equates to approximately one minute per month at most. However, my watch was losing significantly more than that.
To verify, I conducted a controlled test: I fully wound the watch, set it precisely to the second using time.gov, and monitored it over 72 hours. The watch had lost approximately 20 seconds during that period.
I contacted the service department at Swiss Watch Expo (SWE), and they promptly arranged for me to bring the watch in. After initial testing, they confirmed it was losing 5–7 seconds per day. Roly, the Service Manager, adjusted the movement and kept the watch for further observation. After 24 hours, it was keeping perfect time with time.gov, accurate to the second.
Being local to SWE, I was able to pick up the watch the following morning. In total, the watch was with them for about a day and a half, and the service was fully covered under their excellent 18-month warranty.
I continue to be thoroughly impressed with every aspect of my experience with Swiss Watch Expo. I have now purchased two watches from them and would not hesitate to buy from them again. They are a top-tier dealer, highly recommended!

Awesome experience. Easy to purchase online, watch was better than expected, I purchased a pre-owned Omega Seamaster 300m, it included the box and cards and was in pristine condition. I cannot even tell that it is pre-owned. The price was extremely competitive and I dare say lower than other competitors that I was looking at. Great experience all around.
