Honestly, working for SVETNESS was not the experience I expected. But got wind of the type of company it was very soon.
I was a trainer there and ended up being let go. The biggest thing that stuck with me was just how much is expected from the trainers compared to what we actually get paid. Clients are paying $75 a session and trainers are getting $35. That $35 isn’t just for the hour of training either. You’re driving to and from people’s houses, sometimes 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes away, writing programs, communicating with clients, doing accountability, helping with nutrition, etc. There’s a lot of work happening outside of that one hour.
And the whole setup is very sales-focused. There are people whose job is basically assigning clients to trainers after they’ve been sold these high-ticket packages. Trainers are then the ones who actually have to go out and deliver everything that was promised.
The turnover is also pretty crazy. There are constantly people coming and going, especially on the sales side, and it can honestly feel like nobody even knows who is working with who sometimes.
What bothered me most is that the company seems much more focused on the contracts and the money attached to them than the people actually doing the work. Trainers are the ones driving all over the place, building relationships with clients, writing their programs and keeping them accountable, but the company is the one collecting the bigger portion of what the client pays.
I met some great people and genuinely enjoyed working with a lot of my clients, so this isn't about them. I just think anyone considering working here should really understand what the job actually looks like beyond the advertised “$35 per session.”
Once you factor in the driving, programming, communication and everything else, that $35 can go a lot quicker than you think.
Just my honest experience as a former trainer.

Good Trainers Bad Business
So, we asked for a trainer that is Christian and would pray with us before sessions only to get a call from them after paying for a 3-month contract saying basically that this isn't going to happen. The trainer was good and knowledgeable about the things my wife and I would ask when it comes to working out and the body, but the business itself is bad. We told the person doing our intake that we (my wife and I) would do a three-month contract but my wife would maybe stop after month two depending on her pregnancy. The 3 months were almost over, and they sent us a bill for another month claiming we had to send a cancellation of contract 30 days before our last session or something or we would be billed and have to continue with the contract. I told them that I wasn't aware of this and I don't want to continue services but I'm still being billed. At this point my wife cannot participate either and they want to bill me for both of us even though the contract is up. Then I get some message saying that I can pay half of the full payment but have no services. I told them I would do that, but I can't pay until next month. Then I got another message saying that this is only available if I today and that I would have to pay in full for a service that we don't want or are going to even use. I'm not even mad at this point I'm just disappointed in myself for making the decision to use this company when I could've gotten a better price and better results elsewhere. I would not recommend this place to anyone and the only reason it got one star is because the trainer.

Ten weeks of cancellation requests, and they only admitted the error when I produced their own documentation
I signed up with Svetness in late May 2026 for in-home personal training, a joint engagement with a friend. Before signing, I had a detailed onboarding call with their fitness coordinator, where I explained our goals, schedules, travel dates, and the fact that we are both navigating perimenopause and wanted a trainer experienced with the hormonal, metabolic, recovery and body-composition changes that come with it. She confirmed she had documented all of it.
What followed:
Billing began before service did. Automatic biweekly charges to my credit card started June 1, before any trainer had been assigned to us. In total I paid $2,180.
The trainer assigned was not a fit. He was pleasant, but during our sessions he told me he was a boxer by profession and had joined Svetness the week before being assigned to us. He also told me he was paid $40 per hour while we were billed $109 per hour. He missed a scheduled session without notice, days after we had planned the full schedule together. Then he texted that he could no longer keep our agreed time and proposed we drive to San Ramon and train on his morning schedule instead. The service I purchased was in-home training on our schedule.
We completed 6 sessions. That is $654 of service against $2,180 paid.
I asked to cancel during the week of July 10, and have been asking ever since. By email and by phone. I was passed from department to department, each taking my information and telling me it had been escalated to resolution. Nobody followed through. It is now September 22. That is more than ten weeks of cancellation requests, with the automatic charges continuing the entire time.
The contract enforcement came only after I refused to pay for their error. When I told their Client Success representative that Svetness had made a mistake in trainer selection and I would not pay for them to correct it, I received a long email citing section 3 of the agreement, "FULL PAYMENT," and an early-termination buyout. That email also told me perimenopause had been "noted as one aspect of your overall health and fitness goals, rather than a specific requirement," and that their records did not show I had asked for a trainer with relevant qualifications. At no point did she acknowledge that the goals I signed up for had not been met.
So I went back to the coordinator who took my original call. On September 15 she wrote to me that she had personally reviewed my onboarding notes, quoted back the exact language she had entered into my Svetness profile about both of us navigating perimenopause and needing support with hormonal, metabolic, recovery and body composition changes, and told me: "I do not want to tell you that this information was not provided to our team, because it was." She apologized for the disconnect. I have the screenshots.
Only then did anyone admit the error. A Solutions Specialist emailed to say that after reviewing the original enrollment call, they understood my request "was not accurately carried into the matching process," and they wanted the chance to correct it. I declined and asked again to cancel. He asked for a call. I gave him my phone number the same day. I have heard nothing since, and his number does not connect when I call it.
The invoices never stopped. I had to block the charges through my credit card and file a dispute, which is pending on two $436 transactions. I continue to receive daily overdue notices, along with the warning that if my account goes to external collections I may owe "$500 or 35% of the outstanding balance, whichever is higher," plus attorney's fees and court costs.
The pattern I experienced: the company admits nothing until you produce its own written records, and even then the billing does not stop and the person who admitted it stops answering.
DO NOT USE SVETNESS FOR YOUR PERSONAL FITNESS NEEDS UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND THE NEXT FEW MONTHS SWEATING IN FRUSTRATION AND HARASSMENT BY SVETNESS.

The ONLY thing I like about my Svetness Personal Training experience has been the Personal Trainer, Tiana
The ONLY thing I like about my Svetness Personal Training experience has been the Personal Trainer, Tiana that I’ve been using the whole time! I made her my “Sweet Seester” after our first session! And because she started taking a break from training on 9/30, I have also been taking a break from using Svetness, until she returns. Because my experience with them has been HORRIBLE! I will post the details of what I’ve been going through with them separately. I’m looking forward to working with her again!

Not a trustworthy company
Svetness made promises that they could not keep, and still have not returned the money I paid up front months later. I was told I’d get a trainer within 10 business days, and they waited until the very last day to assign someone. That trainer was not accountable at all (cancelled our first session 30 minutes before on the day of, tried to move our reschedule appointment the next day, and then didn’t show for the next session we scheduled together). I followed the channels that Svetness directed me to in order to get a new trainer, but wasn’t assigned one 10 days later. I contacted customer service and asked for my money back because they were holding up their contractual obligations. This was “approved” on July 22 and I was told I’d receive the refund within 30 days. By August 22 I didn’t receive it so I reached out again and was told sorry, they would escalate to billing. As of September 16 I still haven’t received the refund after reaching out 3 more times with no response from customer service.

SCAM
First of all I am 68 years.old and online contacts are not my forte. I joined April 22 and told them I wanted to start immediately. They did not have any trainers in my area. They did not tell me that and took my money anyway . I called and spoke with many people to cancel the contract. They would not refund my money. Eventually they found a trainer and I used my sessions as I had already payed for them. They continued to debit my account after I had called and cancelled. Per billing , the customer is liable for the full contract and not allowed to cancel early. When signing up I was told multiple times that I could cancel early without penalty. I unfortunately still believe that people tell the truth. This company is nothing more than a scam. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT. If you want to use them do one session at a time and don't pay until you actually have contact with an actual trainer

I wish I had read these reviews before…
I wish I had read these reviews before I contracted with this company. I bought 6 months of sessions and was assigned a trainer who was very nice but let me know that she would not be available for two months. She had informed the company but they assigned. Her to me anyway.
So for two months I didn’t have a trainer. They provided me with another trainer who was great and emailed me that they would extend my contract. They absolutely did not but instead cancelled my contract even though I had over 20 sessions left. They have been unresponsive. This company is about money and not wellness. Do not waste your money or time.

Will Charge You even though You End Auto Renewal
Very disappointing experience with Svetness.
I signed up for a 3-month training program and was told by the sales representative that auto-renewal had been canceled. After completing the program, I was unexpectedly charged again.
I contacted customer service immediately and was repeatedly told that a manager would reach out within a few days. More than 10 days later, I still have no refund, no resolution, and no timeline. The sales representative even acknowledged there was a mistake but then stopped responding.
The most frustrating part is not the billing error itself, but the complete lack of follow-through. I have spent hours calling and waiting, only to receive the same promises with no action.
