We have gone through various hosting providers over the years and saw that there was always something missing in every provider, whether it be reliability, performance, support, or just morals as a whole. Many providers use outdated hardware and the ones who do in fact use higher-end hardware consume lots of power and other resources, leaving behind a huge carbon footprint. Surf Hosting was created as an all-in-one solution.Highest quality out there, treating customers like human beings instead of a number, no matter how large we get. These are the very baseline of core values that drive our success here at Surf Hosting. We believe that if you do good for the world, the world does good for you - Which is why we are committed to contributing 3.4% of our profits towards carbon removal and tree planting for a greener future.

Purchased a server with 4 cores or a ryzen 9 and 14gb of ram and the server was chugging with only 6 tps most of the time, while only having 15 players online.
The worst part was that less than half of the cpu cores were being utilised and only 8/14gb of ram were used at a maximum.
They told me I had to upgrade my server and pay triple than I already was and couldn't explain why my server cpu and ram was not being used (maybe cause it didn't exist, just speculation).
In the end I asked how upgrading would fix the issue and after them not responding I asked for a refund for which they still havent given me an answer.
0/10 would not recommend it was my fault for thinking a cheap host is legit.

Hey!
We apologize for the delay in your ticket, normally we respond within seconds but we had a high ticket volume today so it took an hour for a response which I once again apologize for.
As for the lag, our $0.75/GB Budget plan isn't meant for the kind of load you were putting on the server which was explained in the ticket. It's geared towards smaller projects and dev servers. We recommend going with our Premium or Extreme line for heavy loads.
Best wishes,
Shaum

Spammy and deceitful
Spammy and underhanded by acting like a player wanting to join a server then trying to get you to switch to their services. Not a company that I would want to be associated with.

Not a company I would trust with my server
We had Discord user "alissagearht" join our Minecraft Discord server as a player, go through our full onboarding, join our server only to then start pushing their hosting services and wasting everyones time.
I for one wouldn't put any faith for my Minecraft server being hosted by a deceptive company with horrible marketing.
Edit: not sure why you guys are claiming it isn't your company. This person is literally listed on your staff page. And I joined the discord on your website to raise my concerns and your CEO pretty much said "Good for you" and shrugged it off. Yet the minute I've posted this you guys have had 3 attempts at getting it removed and all of a sudden care about how people see you.

Spotty Service and Slow Support
Website barely functioned while ordering a minecraft server. Honestly should have taken it as a sign. Server was not provisioned within hours. Support ticket was opened within business hours, got escalated to "Technical" support, who proceeded to not reply at all.

We're truly sorry to hear about your experience with our service. We understand the frustration caused by spotty service and slow support, especially when your Minecraft server wasn't provisioned in a timely manner. Your feedback is invaluable, and we are actively working to improve our support response times.

Terrible service.
There are a lot of things I wish that could be improved, and not many things which I'm proud of. Surf Hosting has its positives and negatives, but for me, the negatives far outweighed the positives. Surf Hosting is a terrible service and you should not purchase from it because they are unreliable and borderline incompetent against other hosts.
Firstly, the user experience is horrible. Surf Hosting uses the default and inadequate pterodactyl theme, which is borderline the worst you can get. For example, I can't even use the editor to find things with "control + f" properly; I have to copy and paste my configuration files into sublime text to easily edit it. From my experience, other hosts have better file editors and panels. They constantly say that they will soon upgrade to the "Pelican Panel", but it's been weeks and the amount of response they have give to their customers is precisely 0.
Furthermore, their unreliability only adds to their incompetence. Surf Hosting constantly changes their prices and discontinues services without any prior warnings. For example, if a user purchases a service at $35/mo, and the price changes to $20/mo, they will not be able to use the new price and will be stuck at $35/mo unless they cancel their service, migrate all their files, update network allocations and databases. This works the other way around, and you'd pay $20/mo even if the price rose to $30/mo, but it only shows that they haven't made up their mind about their pricing yet.
Moreover, the most important factor might not be prices or user experience, but their literal service itself. From my experience with Surf Hosting—which is about 1 month—they have constantly went through impromptu downtime, especially on weekends and holidays when players play the most. Their "Entrepreneur" manager just stated on their announcements channel, "All customers located in Germany & New York will be transferred to NeoProtect which will result in an IP change" without any prior warning. An IP change will result in server developers having to change every configuration file which uses any external database to reflect the new endpoint, change their DNS records, and on top of that, simply not be able to play this weekend from "Saturday, May 18, 9:30 PM UTC to Sunday, May 19, 8:00 AM UTC. This means that anyone living in India, Pakistan, Philippenes, and North America will not be able to play during their peak times. It would be tolerable if this sort of thing happened once every month or two, but it's quite literally happening every week. It's time to move on to a new host.
Although their service and user experience is borderline unacceptable, their prices might sway your eyes into purchasing from them. Previously, Surf Hosting allowed its users to use Aikar's flags, something which practically every minecraft server host allows, that modifies your JVM startup flags to optimize your java garbage collection. Without it, you run the risk of constant crashes and low performance. Guess what? they've disallowed it. Their only response is, "That wouldn't be doable on shared hosting for every server to be running on Aikar flags." This is just scammy behavior, and goes to show that Surf Hosting does not give you what they promised. Unlike hosts like Bloom Host, Sparked Hosting, HostHavoc, and practically every well-known minecraft server host, Surf Hosting limits your ability to tweak your own JVM flags, which means that they don't really give you as much RAM as they say they do. When consulting them about this, they say things like, "Most of our income comes from dedicated servers. Please buy one." This shows how little they care for their customers. Their support team is quite active, but even then, they're only helping customers use a borderline unusable service. Their prices are not worth the downtime and user experience, and I would not recommend it at all, even if you're broke; it is not worth it. Either self-host it, use Oracle Cloud and host it for free, or use another host such as Sparked Host, which at least doesn't have a 12 hour long downtime every weekend and an amazing panel, and doesn't deceive customers by limiting their startup flags, while retaining below-average prices.
In conclusion, there is no valid reason to use Surf Host. Their prices are cheap, but you're paying for something which you can't tune to your standards—a service which goes down without warning, or at least has been, every weekend for the last month. Unless you pay "$349/mo for life" for a dedicated server, you will not receive the benefits other hosts offer for less than a tenth of that price. Surf Hosting is not the "pinnacle of server hosting," as they say. Rather, they're a scammy work of art that uses their sales staff to lie to their customers with false promises.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with Surf Hosting. I understand you've had some concerns, and I'd like to provide some additional context that may help address them.
We had planned to launch the new panel alongside Pelican's beta, but things didn't go as planned unfortunately. Our current panel theme is very different from default Pterodactyl both frontend and backend wise.
I apologize for the recent downtime experienced on our Minecraft Hosting in New York. We received some pretty massive DDoS attacks and for the price we're offering it wasn't feasible to be implementing something like NeoProtect on our cheaper plans. Despite this, we wanted to go the extra mile for our clients to implement it. I hope you can understand that this decision was made to put our clients first, and prioritize their satisfaction over profits as we genuinely care about our customers.
We do allow our customers to use Aikar flags, and even have a YouTube tutorial for this:

Once again, I am sorry to hear about your experience with us and I hope the context provided above alleviates some of the concerns you had.
Sincerely,
