I am being charge for a modem that I never received from them. When I got the installation I told them that I was getting my own modem so I would not have to rent one from them. I went to best buy and bought my own and still have the receipt. I am being charge $100 for a modem. I want to see what they will say when I show them the receipt with time and date that I bought it. There is no rent charge on my statements about me renting a modem from them either.

Not Reliable
It's just like everyone else says, this is a horrible company. Customer service is the worst that I've ever seen. They have tried to cancel appointments because they didn't believe the issues we were having were serious, they have purposely ended chat conversations once we tell them what our problem is (after waiting a LONG time just to get connected with an agent) and they charge ridiculous fees just to connect over the phone with them ($10 just for a phone conversation with customer service! - Told by technician).
The only good experience my boyfriend and I have had with this company is that the technicians are amazing to work with. The internet we pay for itself is okay, but we get disconnection issues a lot too.
I'd never recommend Suddenlink to anyone. They shouldn't even be in business...

Worse customer service ever .
We have been trying to get service from sudden link since 3/14 and have not been hooked up yet. Today a service man came out ( 1 of 7 mind you) and once again could not get a signal because the ground crew once again did not show up to connect it to the pole! I have called the company 4 times now and talked with 5 different people ( in which 2 hung up on me). I don't know what ever happened to customer service but I think it is dead in this country! I was told once again that it would be taken care of tomorrow. I have decided if tomorrow comes and we have no service I'm done! This is so bad for a business to conduct service in such a way that the customer is left frustrated and angry. It's not like they offer the service for free! I even pre paid them for the first month which I expect to get refunded in full. Worst service and company I have dealt with in my 63 years!

Sudden link steals money from their…
Sudden link steals money from their customers by charging them for equipment they dont have. Vague billiing so you don't know what you are paying for. High prices and poor internet services. My wifi never worked properly. Bad customer service over all. Absolutely worst cable company.

Absolutely incompetent company
There are good internet providers, there are bad ones and then there’s Suddenlink. They are truly in the league of their own.
We have moved to a new home October last year. It’s a new construction and is out of the Suddenlink coverage. When I called them to disconnect the service at our old place, they asked if I wanted to transfer it to a new one. I agreed and submitted a request for cost-to-build (basically paying to get connected to a nearby Suddenlink fiber line that runs in neighboring community close to our home.
A couple of months passed. Every time I called, they would transfer to a different department, yet nobody seemed to know if or when I would have my estimate. I spoke with customer care, residential sales, engineering dept, etc. Nothing.
In February upon one of my follow-ups I was advised to try to run through business department. I have a home-based business, so I said sure, that’s fine, I just want the service. A guy from business department (Stephen), called and spend thirty minutes telling me how great he was at his job and how many happy customers they had. He seemed unfazed when I repeatedly told him that I was out of coverage and needed my own line built in order to get connected. No worries, he said, we’ll get the tech out asap and get you going.
A technician came out a few days later, looked around and said “You don’t have the line, do you? Why would they send me here?”
The best part came a few weeks later. Still hoping to receive a follow-up/cost-to-build estimate, I got a piece of mail from Suddenlink. It contained a two-month bill for business internet service package. The service they couldn’t provide in the first place.
It’s now December 2021, and it’s been over a year since I submitted my first request. They are still “working on it.”
I understand that right now Suddenlink has pretty much a monopoly on high-speed internet in Tyler, Lindale and other parts of east TX. However, I hope the time will come when an actually decent company/ies will take over Suddenlink’s market.
If you can help it at all-steer clear from Suddenlink. Period.
