I used the site a few years ago when I was applying to medical school but I found the information and advice to be rather basic and many times incorrect. I successfully gained admission to a US medical program when I was told to "pursue another career." I don't recommend this site for that reason. EDIT: Someone from SDN replied below and they are spewing their typical BS because they got called out. What a bunch of losers! Just avoid that site altogether. You will get into medical school without all the garbage that exists on their site. Notice, how they are telling you to discard the information in their public forums and to sign up for their confidential advising. These guys are too much. You guys need to grow a spine. When you offer a poor quality product, you will get a bad review. Stop harassing LEGITIMATE reviewers. It makes you look bad! ...and creepy.
Response from Student Doctor Network Expert AdvisingOct 26, 2025
This review contains false and misleading statements about our organization. The Student Doctor Network (SDN) is published by the Health Professional Student Association (HPSA), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. SDN has provided free advising and peer support for over 25 years. We do not sell services and do not solicit payment from students. All of our discussion forums and advising resources remain freely accessible to the public. This comment also confuses SDN’s community forums (which are open to anyone to share opinions) with our Confidential Expert Advising Program, which is staffed by verified academic professionals and operates entirely on a volunteer basis. The individual posting this review has repeatedly submitted inaccurate and defamatory comments over several years, and there is no record of this person ever using our Expert Advising Service. We continue to invite students to verify our nonprofit status and review our mission and operations directly at https://www.studentdoctor.net/about-sdn/. Our mission remains unchanged: to provide ethical, evidence-based support to all pre-health students, completely free of charge.
