Please be advised that your Sterling background check information clearly states CONVICTIONS and therefore anything else is information that is obtained without complete consent.

They have called multiple times stating they verified my employment with a company I owned as only being a manager and for different time frames then the company was even open. They demand that I email unredacted documents with PII (personally identifying information) on them. They speak very broken English on the phone and told me I couldn't have owned the buisness because "we verified Xxxx dates not the ones you just gave us"...verified with who I ran the buisness who did you speak to that knows more about when i worked for myself then me? Now you want W2s not a license issued by the state that shows i was still operating and doesn't contain PII. They just want to sell your PII to the highest bidder. This company should be shut down. Also a W2 from a buisness owner...? How many buisness owners are W2 employees. Not many.

This is the WORST company as years ago they had trouble verifying my education and then this year they combined 2 of my 3 contracts working for a company, did a background check and driving background on me for IN which I have never ever lived in IN and then they go ahead and had entered in the wrong dates of my employment for one of my jobs. If I still want the job it is my job to go to my past employers and request pay stubs and then they will consider me for their client's February 24 class when I have not worked since January 2 2020 and last pay check was on January 11 2020.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I wish I could give them a negative rating!! I have been waiting almost 4 weeks for my background check that is squeaky clean! They keep lying to me, telling me a different date and blaming my County Courthouse for the delay. I called the Courthouse and they said they've had it done for quite some time, but they won't release the background check without payment and Sterling hasn't paid them yet. TWELVE phone calls later, they lie to me again and tell me they're waiting on Courthouse and when I call them out on it, Sterling says they know nothing about it and gives me another date she says the Courthouse has given them it'll be done. So, I call the Courthouse again and they said they NEVER give dates out like that. This company is a disgrace and I'm so upset that when I started calling her out on the lies today, she started speaking in her native language or very fast English that I couldn't understand, it was very odd. Then at the end of the conversation she says they'll expedite it and hangs up. WTH???

Continue to place me on hold, not returning calls, ask the same questions over and over, etc....Wow!!!

MY BC file was opened on 11/12/19 and 5 days later they ask me to give them documents to prove my employement with a company that closed down 5 years back (eventhough I gave them all the info I could while filing my first form). I receive the same email I received on 16/12/19 on 30/1/20, after 45 days. I called them up and asked them if they went through my email response from 16/12/19 (I replied to their query on 16/12 within 1 hour). After a 8 hour search, finally they found my response email. AFTER 45 DAYS OF DOING NOTHING AT ALL. It is alarming that they can be so relaxed about people and their future.

I hope I could provide infinite negative stars to this scam. I've done a lot of background checks before, none of them were like this joke. They ask me to provide everything and they not just never respond on time but also changed their requests/answers to the same question every time I talk with them. Why on earth we have this kind of company existed?! I cannot believe they will keep anyone's information confidential.
