An absolutely useless and long winded process with people who are irresponsible and unprofessional. All the information was provided for their checks - they constantly every day said "we need this information" - everything was sent yet they constantly kept asking ridiculous questions which were of no relevance to the screening process. Even when additional documents were sent across - 4 days later they asked for the same thing again! Call centre staff in India who couldn't process the information given over the phone and half the time had no clue on how to resolve the queries. Any company looking at this - avoid this company like the plague.

I don't know why companies are using this company to do checks. I signed up to uber eats. I had to do this stupid check on here. I did as I had to do putting my address into their site. Their site has decided to put all my address as one address and mess up my entire application with uber eats. I now can't sign up to uber eats because my phone number is already on uber eats account as signed up. This is a pointless company that should not be used ever in the UK. the people who work here are not fluent in english. They're from pakistan or somewhere foreign arccross the globe. When ringing a uk company you would think you would get a uk enligh person to speak to. Thanks for ruining my job with uber eats.

On 5/13 I brought my vehicle to change the tire but service didn’t have any which I understand. Brought it back the next day after being there most of the day I went to pick it up. As I was getting into my car I noticed my window was Shattered. I spoke to the service manager and she started they it was nothing she could do. Then I spoke to sells manager. I was told that they would give me a loaner car then changed their mind after the business owner took responsibility for the glass. Rober Cook was called then I was told that there was no car’s availability. My daughter graduation form college and I had a parade therefore my window had tape on it and I could not wash. Also I have grandkids riding in the car which this glass could have fell on someone. Over the years I have bought seven cars with this company. I feel they the one making decisions pick and choose the ones that they want to help. I have seen how they help certain people. Marshell Rosette

Awful company! I was offered a job with a major water company in the East of England (AW). The company I was offered a job with decided to use Sterling to carry out their pre employment checks as for some reason, AW were incapable of forming a proper HR/recruitment team. The first forms I completed got lost in the telephone line between England and India (which I believe this company are based). Once I completed the second forms on their ridiculous online submission forms, I had issues from day one. First I was pestered to provide payslips from a VOLUNTARY position I had three years ago?!?! Then I was expected to create an account with the HMRC (tax office in the UK) to prove I had not been in paid employment. In the end, the company I was offered a job with (Anglian Water) decided to withdraw my contract offer. After various digging, I eventually found out that Sterling (who I would advise anyone to avoid) had only received one reference from the three provided, they had tried to contact a voluntary organisation which no longer exists, despite me telling them on numerous occasions and the delay in 'processing' this information ultimately cost me my job!!!

Lazy, lazy, lazy employees. My email chain with two of their "Verifications Specialists" was about 30 emails long as they essentially asked me to do their job for them e.g. "could you please provide contact information for [school]?" which is easily findable information and asking me to ask my employers for references to then be sent to them. It also didn't help that they weren't in communication with each other - a couple of times they asked me for something that I had already provided earlier in the email thread. The worst example of their laziness was perhaps when I was asked to convert a word document to a PDF for them, as if it doesn't just take 2 seconds to do.

They are nightmare. Hopefully, none of you have to work with this company. After long time waiting on the phone, an agent comes and says general thing that " our team is working hard, they have been trying everything,.." but your issue still the same with no progress. I think this company just hired some people to answer the phone and keep applicants/clients busy with front desk. No actual follow up or caring about your issue. They have no idea how stressful is the situation for applicant and how possibly any delay or inaccurate work, can change someone's life.

This is the worst experience. I am currently going through this process with them. I completed the background application, and I received emails stating that I needed to complete additional verification process by providing my W2's, pay stubs or earning statements. I contacted my former employers and they stated they spoke with the rep providing the verification. I have tried to call repeatedly, extremely long hold times, no return calls after leaving a voicemail. And they provide incorrect information when you do get a rep on the phone. I would not recommend this company. This has been the most stressful experience and I am not sure of my start date will be delayed from all this nonsense.
