Sterling, A First Advantage CompanyReviews of sterlingcheck.com

This is a background check company that makes you do your own background check. They expect you to send you w2 and pay stubs for jobs you work as a freshman in high school. You can email them asking how to get it and you’ll get the same automated email asking for pay stubs. Terrible company that might delay the start date on my new job. Should be dropped.

i was just on hold for 37 minutes before i hung up. i’m just trying to complete my background check for employment and their website doesn’t even work. how are you gonna ask me for several years of employment history and only allow me to add one. now i am just on standby with my employer because this website is trash

Call down the Sterling to see if they can help me what's some notes they were very unhelpful very rude very disrespectful they did not seem like they wanted to help out

We went there to hire a car.The man we talk to us said it was 140 euro for two days. We went back to our appartement and my husband looked .online . It was 80 euro. Then I talked to a lady at the hotel. She said she could make a deal voor 100. We had to pay her 40 euro in cash. We didnt trust it so we went back to the dealer and asked how it was possible to get 3 different numbers. He was a little bit annoid.and said we had to pay for the assurance. But first they said it was all inclusive. We went home and hire a car by a different company. Because we dient trust Sterling any more.

The company has had my information for over two weeks now. They tell me that they have all the information they need from me, but told the employer I'm looking to work with that I've not provided everything and had them ask me for further documentation. Upon my personal inquiry of what information they needed, Sterling's Customer Care agents told me not once, not twice, but three separate times that no further information was needed on my end that they were only waiting for the drug screening to be reported back. I do not trust a background check company that has such sloppy informational transitions and cannot account for what information they need versus what they have access too. This has legitimately been THE single most unprofessional background check process I've ever been through.

I had been on the phone with them 2 full days trying to get a reset password email so I could do the background check. Every time I called it was a different reason they could not send it. An employee walked me through troubleshooting and kept yelling at me. He was not polite at all and treated me like I was unworthy of his help. Then they gave up on the situation and informed me that I needed to do it manually through the employer. To make a long story short I lost the job opportunity.

Poor website. Poor customer support. All those documents, information but they can't check a simple criminal record. What are you doing with all this information?

Their technical support is poor. I have been requesting assistance with the billing and technical issues for over a year. Some times when we submit backgrounds our own last name appears on the report (not the correct last name of the person we are running the report on). I would not recommend this company. When we first signed up with them it was wonderful. Not sure what has happened over the past three years but the company is not the same. Closing account as soon as possible.
