They've delayed me on my start date for work and now might delay me again for starting my job. It says "background completed", but according to company I'll be working for it hasn't cleared yet. I need to start work, asap. They've delayed me more than once now and I'm losing time and money over them. Looks like I'm have to apply for another job that doesn't use this company before I go in the hole over money. I turned down 👇 many jobs over this when I could have started by now. Do not use them at all cost, unless you have too.

Very bad experience with this company. I explained I had been the victim of identity fraud. I joined the class action suit against them. I was refunded my money and got a couple of hundred dollars back in the settlement

Continuously reporting false information and preventing me from obtaining a job. I have contacted them several times about several different jobs to get this fixed as they are reporting on a Felony that no longer exists a change that’s been lowered/amended/change and effective since 2018. Good thing I keep all my paperwork!

If I can give this company no stars, I would. I have been waiting for a simple background check for a month. My background check does not require fingerprints or a drug test. Sterling received my education and employment information days after I submitted my background application. I started checking the status of my background check about 2 weeks before it was supposed to be completed. Sterling reps confirmed each time I called that it would be completed on 8/19. My report was pending search results from FDLE. Today (8/19) I called and was informed that the FDLE info still hadn’t been received. I called FDLE multiple times as well, and was told that Sterling is running an “instant search” for my info and that information from FDLE about me has already been sent to Sterling twice. Each time I contact Sterling they seem to have no clue what is going on. Every rep at Sterling blames the “internal team” as the group who actually compiled the background report. This “internal team” seems to have not touched my file until today (the day it is set to be completed). Now Sterling is blaming FDLE stating that FDLE needs until 9/16 to provide them with criminal info on me. I informed Sterling that this new date is unacceptable and it will negatively affect the start date of my new job. Of course they don’t care about me starting a new position. The company that I accepted a position with is not requiring fingerprints or a drug test. This is otherwise known as a Level 1 background check in FL. This is a simple search and results are quick. This has been an extremely horrible experience with Sterling and FDLE. I am eager to start my new job and both Sterling and FDLE are impacting my start date.

They asked you to find laboratory in them list that will make your drug test and give you results within 48 hours. First: the working hours in them list are wrong, Second: they didn't send you to laboratory, they send you to clinic that colect your urine and after that clinic send it to the laboratory. Every clinic said that they cannot be sure, it is up to laboratory when the result will be ready. If you want to change clinic that you choose first because you see in them website that it will work in Friday till 4 PM but that clinic works till 12 in Friday and from clinic said that they cannot help you within 24 hours in Monday to receive you results, they will keep you around 1 hour on the phone (on hold) or they will try to close and call you after because they cannot find who can help you. Of course them English is not native and this is very big challenge for not native English speakers. 1 year before they wasted few days to add my second name for background check. It take to many days and hours on the phone with different people to fix that issue because my employer provided only 2 names. Again how someone that is not laboratory takes money to perform urine drug tests and ask the poorest people to obtain results within 48 hours? For test that is $3 - $10, I was driving 53 + 51 miles today with to many slow downs because road works, to understand in the clinic that my test may be will not be ready in Monday. If you want to be nice employer don't use them for drug test!

Unresponsive company. Non of the team are coordinated, it seems the email you send no one reads them. They don’t even let you know at the end if you passed the background check or not. The anxiety they caused is big. You call customer support and they don’t have answers for you. Really bad company. Worst experience doing background check ever

This is my first experience with Sterling. WOW. I had my fingerprints done back in early May 2022 in hopes to start a summer job at the beginning of July. It is now three months later on August 11th 2022. Still no sign of my check being done. I called them twice and they said both times that it could take from 6-8 weeks. In that case, my background check should have been done by mid to late June at the latest. This delay has been 12 weeks (3 months) so far. The summer is now over and so is my job opportunity! No wonder our economy is suffering from a staffing shortage. I can't even get my background check done in reasonable time to get a job! Thank you (and I'm sorry) tax payers for my Government assistance (unemployment) money! I did try to do the right thing. Please don't call me lazy. It's not my fault.

I can't start work Monday. Once again, Sterling doesn't do background checks. They make you provide the information. Such as IRS transcripts. High school diploma, which is taking a while. They collect consumer information. They DO NOT verify anything. They are data mining under the pretext of a background check.
