If it was possible to give this company 0 stars I would. Spend the last 3 wasted hours trying to login to there platform to complete a background check for a new job offer. The site responds it is having issues. There is no tech support available after 8pm. Time is of the essence Sterling and you’re doing a real poor job.

It has been an absolute hassle dealing with this company for a basic verification check. A UK citizen with birth certificate, passport and all other documentation comes back as failed verification to work in UK? The system isn't fit for use and the staff in Customer Services refuse to transfer to correct department which has no phone number available to the public. I now have plenty of time to write reviews such as this as have lost out on a job opportunity due to Sterling.

This is the dumbest service any company can use. I had applied for a job on 09/2 and received paperwork from Sterling to start their so called background check. 09/09 I had not heard anything so I checked the website and it said 09/14 everything should be complete. Well now the service is saying 9/22. I emailed them for their dumb asses to respond with Amanda, I do apologize for the delay, Looking into the account one of the employment searches we had contacted advised that they will provide a response after 5 days and as per our process since we are to try to reach out to them 3 times and calculating the possible 5 day delay for each attempt the system came up with the new ETA. ( So this system thinks a person is going to wait a month for a response from an ex employer to be giving?) This is the dumbest stuff ever, an ex supervisor/ employer doesn't give a rats ass about a background employer check. This is so dumb and whomever came up with this bs isn't going to have any employees in the workforce. A $17.00 an hour job and you are taking people through all of this. WHY. DUMB AS HELL. For you other inquiry please reach out to your recruiter as they are the ones who requested the background check package for the specific position. Common Sense Isn't So COMMON. You don't have to go through this being checked for an FBI job. SMH.

Sterlig have to be the worse business I have had to deal with, and I'm making an effort here to be objective. Over the course of the years, and through different jobs, I had to deal with them multiple times, both to run background checks on me and to update other stuff. Their communications are useless, just a set of emails shooting at you relentlessly every few days all asking you to take action when you already did, all written in formal terms and linked to even more formal charts and clauses. It is borderline impossible to understand what they need you to do, definitely impossible to get them to provide a list of all requirements at once, but very possible indeed to just snap out and ask them to stop battering you with worthless emails.

Terrible expierence with the custmer support. Waiting sice 4 days for a reply. They forgot so many things in my background check, i forwarded them everything they need and still missing and wrong data like my employement confirmation or current employement. Support ist not answering my questions, and when they do after 5 days, its still not satisfied with their reply. Terrible, terrible

They required that I provide either a letter of employment, and not a contract or employment offer letter yet they did not specify the difference. They denied my letter of employment and demanded a T4, which is only released the next year, but they want the information in the next 2 days. They accept a pay stub but the company I worked with prior has not mailed me a pay stub. Sterling is completely unaccommodating. A simple Police Check would have solved all of these issues. It's not rocket science to confirm employment history with sensitive information already provided.

This has been a devastating experience. This company has now cost me my reputation with an employer. They took 20 plus business days to complete this incorrect report. I called multiple times and was given varying information regarding the duration of my wait time. After receiving the report they had my name incorrect along with a murder conviction for a different man being credited to my supposed identity. A simple check of the correctional system record shows this man to be of a different race having no similar features other than being a male.
