This is a viscious company. They're maliciously delaying my background search and putting a roadblock in my job journey. They were originally supposed to take 8 days (from Nov 14-Nov22). They did not complete anything. So i called them and they pushed the due date to December 7!!!! I've never seen a background check take so long. It's disgusting that they can play around with people's livelihoods and money like that. this is not a FBI position or any one that requires clearance. With Check, Assurehire and other companies, Most background checks are done in 3 days!! I have never been arrested nor charged with a crime. They said the hold up was the County court, so I called the courts and they said they never received a request from Sterling for a background check. They are deceitful and i hope they go out of business for damaging peoples employment opportunities!!

I have been trying to contact someone about my background check for the past week and every time the agent hangs up the call due to signal issues (not a problem on my end). I am receiving conflicting information via emails about what is required for the background check. The candidate page on their website says I've submitted all the information needed (which I have), yet I'm still receiving emails about various consent forms that need to be hand signed.

an absolute appalling experience, poor quality software and a no solution-driven customer service team. Spoke on email and on phone several times, and all the representatives could do was repeating what was on the website even though it was not working for me. 3 weeks to *not* complete a face+passport pic request is a joke. in addition, I asked several time for the issue to be escalated and/or to speak to someone in charge, and was ignored every time.

What an incompetent company. My new employer required 10 year employment & education check with Sterling. I filled out the forms and 10 days later still no response. They only had to check one employer and one university! When the company asked them for the status, Sterling told them they are still waiting for verification from the past employer and the university. So basically Sterling did absolutely nothing in 10 days. Didn't reach out to either me or the company. I also called their "customer support" which is an outsourced Indian call center. One of their forms asks for HR contact phone number and my previous employer (a Fortune 50 company) does not have a public HR phone number. Customer support person told me to just leave the field blank - I informed him that's not possible because they made it a mandatory field. CS person tells me to just put in 0000s. Again, 10 days have passed and Sterling says they have not been able to reach employer; I wouldn't be surprised if they actually tried calling 0000. At this point my hiring date will likely be pushed back due to the sheer incompetence of Sterling.

Can't complete the drug test. Information provided by Sterling is wrong. Spoken with four Sterling customer support agents who don't know what to do, who to refer me to or what to do. Worst customer service I have experienced.

The worst company i have ever dealt with after having checks rejected 4 times.i made the mistake of calling them the person one the line was unable to tell me why it was rejected and told me to "try again" after "trying again" it was rejected so i made the miscalulation of calling again once again got meet with a its not us its you attitude. When i asked if the checks a made by a human or a computer i was meet with dead air and a refusal to answer.

Appalling company, you have to jump through so many unnecessary hoops to get the “right” information to them and the customer service has no empathy or compassion to individual situations, all just robots!

I have been waiting since June for my background check to be completed -it is now November- no information from Sterling as to what the delay is- they say talk to my employer yet my employer has no information from them either. We are going round in circles with no help from Sterlin what so ever.
